Can you grow hydro with just 3 nutrients?

Thinking about a simple hydro set-up and know nothing about hydro.
Question is - do you only need three nutrients throughout the grow?

So would it be possible to get a 5 gal bucket hydro set up and only Three different nutrients from begining to end?

Why would you only want to use three nutrients? I use a seed and clone mix and rhyzotonic on my clones. Cannazyme, Nitrozyme and a 2 part grow fertilizer for vegitation. For flowering I use a 2 part bloom fertilizer, an organic booster called "earth juice", fulvic acid, potash for late flowering and a blueberry flavored final flush. So thats 10 different substances. I'm sure you can grow and flower with only varied amounts of N-P-K but I doubt it would be anywhere as good as a plant thats been treated with specially targeted nutrients at the right times. Your plants need a broad spectrum of components like heavy metals, magnesium, calcium, etc. I'm sure that for the extra $50-$100 worth of chemicals you buy, your plant will thank you with $500-$1000 if not more worth of extra weed.

^^^^i agree with RUSTY.. you can use GH's 3 part..BUT spending a lil cash is WELL WORTH IT, as long as you take the time to understand how the plant works, what it needs & when..good luck

My last grow i only used 3 nutrients BC Boost, BC Grow, BC Bloom and here are my results...................Yes you can effectively grow using only 3 nutrients using hydro. The only difference i noticed was using more specialty flowering products i am getting more resin production, but the yield is looking the same.

The simple answer to your question is yes. However, you will get a much better yield by tailoring the nutrients to your style of grow, lighting, etc. It's a tricky game and it involves some trial & error, but that's why this forum is so useful.

Look up info on the lucas formula. It uses only 2 nutrients through out the whole grow cycle. They are super cheap to, General Hydroponics Flora Series, Micro and Bloom. I know someone is gonna flame me for this but the facts are there, these two nutes will give your plant everything it needs. I personally add a little cal mag though many running this nute schedule do not. To each his own, but I personally think that it's genes, lights and environmental factors that determine yield and quality.
