It's funny how Americans, who profess not to be racist, debate over what makes a person one race or another. Race is an artificial category based on notions of collectivism and often fallacious. For instance, we normally think of people from Spain as being "Hispanic" and not Caucasian. fact is, the Spaniards are white Europeans as much as the French or British.
Anyway, Obama was born in Hawaii to a white mother and aside from living in Indonesia for 4 years was raised primarily by his white grandparents. Obama struggled all his life to identify himself with being black - an identity and culture he had nearly zero actual experience with.
There is little doubt that Obama is firmly pro-black - his work with ACORN among other things demonstrates this. IMO, Obama is fixated on implementing socialized medicine because so many Blacks will benefit from it. True, Whites will as well, but Obama's chief concern if for Blacks and black causes.
Quite Frankly, I find his obvious racism, and the fact that it is condoned, overlooked and excused by so many, to be sickening. Obama, was elected based on his race and his true platform is thinly veiled reparations.

Since you are apparently psychic and know what I am saying better than I know what Im saying. Tell me exactly where this post was "defending Obama" and not making a comment about what I view as Republican hypocrisy.
"They don't have to hate Obama because he is black. They can hate Obama because he is a Democrat. No other way to explain the "Conservatives" who waited until just in the past 18 months or so to become so enraged by out of control government spending and intrusion in our lives. I would have preferred racism over party loyalty, especially since most "claim" to not be loyal to said party.
I for one will be glad if and when Republicans can run the whole show again. It can be just like it was early in the last decade. Government spending, huge deficits, wars of choice, intrusion in our lives. Talk radio can use stats to prove the economy is getting better that today they claim don't prove anything. So are you saying that Bush and the "conservative" congress were not spending out of control? Are you suggesting that Bush didn't push through things like the biggest entitlement in 40 years with his 500 BILLION dollar, 100% DEFICIT paid medicare prescription drug transfer of wealth to the pharmaceutical industry? All while conservatives like yourself were busy jerking off to Fox News coverage of the Iraq war (which was also DEFICIT paid for). All this brings me back to the point of my post in that with all that went on Im supposed to believe all these "conservatives" who have come out of the woodwork just in the last 18 months are some how not hypocrites?
