See....max can make sense sometimes.
whether or not you like it, mr. fitch, hip-hop music IS the most INFLUENTIAL genre on the airwaves today. the hip-hop we listen to today is not hip hop. it's club music. listen to some old school hip-hop and you'll see how it really voiced the issues and concerns of african americans in the late 80s, early 90s. i don't think Ice-T's "Cop Killer" is an admirable song, yet it does speak of the hate felt by minorities towards abusive police. IT IS A PART OF HISTORY, WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.
and there were tejanos fighting alongside gringos at the alamo too, whether you like it or not.
and thomas jefferson was one of the founding fathers, whether he was christian or deist...
and all that stuff you know but you take for granted won't be taught in school anymore.
i'm an atheist, but i grew up in a christian house, i was taught since i was a kid about the bible and I know it. i didn't appreciate that until i met a teen who grew up atheist, didn't even know what the bible was.... i felt sorry for him because he wasn't as fortunate as me to have been taught about religion, and then when i grew up i made my choice, an informed choice... i took that knowledge for granted....
it's one thing to be taught about everything, and then to create a point of view. this is what we should be doing.
it is another to subject our kids to voluntary ignorance, and expect them to grow into more enlightened and knowledgeable people.
this type of playing around with what kids learn is hurting the US educational system, making american students dumber and dumber, and will contribute to the decline of the US state.
Sorry to burst your bubble, But Body Count was not Hip-Hop..
Regardless that it came from Iced T...
And hip hop is nothing to teach in school unless it is in a music class..And that would be pushing it (Not real music anyway)
And you think teaching something about hip hop is a good thing..Come on now
Dude.. come on, it's obviously more than learning about the music. There was a MASSIVE movement into the genre of music that influenced countless peoples lives. In the same way that the words of the founding fathers influenced great thinkers who came after them, the same thing happens with music, and yes, even rap and hip hop.
Ever wonder why Bill OReilly and the rest of the mainstream media gets so bent out of shape when some new popular rap song comes out? Because it's a threat to them, a threat to their way of pushing right wing propaganda or a political agenda. There's no political agenda involved in rapping, only truth as experienced by the rapper.
Cop Killer is one of the best examples. Fuck the Police also comes to mind as a great rap song. This music is a form of protest, and it's completely non violent, what more could someone ask for?

FUCK THE POLICE - NWA
Right about now NWA court is in full effect.
Judge Dre presiding in the case of NWA versus the police department.
Prosecuting attourneys are MC Ren Ice Cube and Eazy muthafuckin E.
Order order order. Ice Cube take the muthafuckin stand.
Do you swear to tell the truth the whole truth
and nothin but the truth so help your black ass?
Why don't you tell everybody what the fuck you gotta say?
Fuck tha police
Comin straight from the underground
Young nigga got it bad cuz I'm brown
And not the other color so police think
They have the authority to kill a minority
Fuck that shit, cuz I ain't tha one
For a punk muthafucka with a badge and a gun
To be beatin on, and throwin in jail
We could go toe to toe in the middle of a cell
Fuckin with me cuz I'm a teenager
With a little bit of gold and a pager
Searchin my car, lookin for the product
Thinkin every nigga is sellin narcotics
You'd rather see me in the pen
Then me and Lorenzo rollin in the Benzo
Beat tha police outta shape
And when I'm finished, bring the yellow tape
To tape off the scene of the slaughter
Still can't swallow bread and water
I don't know if they fags or what
Search a nigga down and grabbin his nuts
And on the other hand, without a gun they can't get none
But don't let it be a black and a white one
Cuz they slam ya down to the street top
Black police showin out for the white cop
Ice Cube will swarm
On any muthafucka in a blue uniform
Just cuz I'm from the CPT, punk police are afraid of me
A young nigga on a warpath
And when I'm finished, it's gonna be a bloodbath
Of cops, dyin in LA
Yo Dre, I got somethin to say
Fuck the police (4X)
M. C. Ren, will you please give your testimony to the jury about this fucked up incident.>
Fuck tha police and Ren said it with authority
because the niggaz on the street is a majority.
A gang, is with whoever I'm stepping
and the motherfuckin' weapon
is kept in a stash box, for the so-called law
wishin' Ren was a nigga that they never saw
Lights start flashin behind me
But they're scared of a nigga so they mace me to blind me
But that shit don't work, I just laugh
Because it gives em a hint not to step in my path
To the police I'm sayin fuck you punk
Readin my rights and shit, it's all junk
Pullin out a silly club, so you stand
With a fake assed badge and a gun in your hand
But take off the gun so you can see what's up
And we'll go at it punk, I'ma fuck you up
Make ya think I'm a kick your ass
But drop your gat, and Ren's gonna blast
I'm sneaky as fuck when it comes to crime
But I'm a smoke em now, and not next time
Smoke any muthafucka that sweats me
Or any assho that threatens me
I'm a sniper with a hell of a scope
Takin out a cop or two, they can't cope with me
The muthafuckin villian that's mad
With potential to get bad as fuck
So I'm a turn it around
Put in my clip, yo, and this is the sound
Ya, somethin like that, but it all depends on the size of the gat
Takin out a police would make my day
But a nigga like Ren don't give a fuck to say
Fuck the police (4X)
Police, open now. We have a warrant for Eazy-E's arrest.
Get down and put your hands up where I can see em.
Just shut the fuck up and get your muthafuckin ass on the floor.
[huh?]>
and tell the jury how you feel abou this bullshit.>
I'm tired of the muthafuckin jackin
Sweatin my gang while I'm chillin in the shackin
Shining tha light in my face, and for what
Maybe it's because I kick so much butt
I kick ass, or maybe cuz I blast
On a stupid assed nigga when I'm playin with the trigga
Of any Uzi or an AK
Cuz the police always got somethin stupid to say
They put up my picture with silence
Cuz my identity by itself causes violence
The E with the criminal behavior
Yeah, I'm a gansta, but still I got flavor
Without a gun and a badge, what do ya got?
A sucka in a uniform waitin to get shot,
By me, or another nigga.
and with a gat it don't matter if he's smarter or bigger
[MC Ren: Sidle him, kid, he's from the old school, fool]
And as you all know, E's here to rule
Whenever I'm rollin, keep lookin in the mirror
And there's no cue, yo, so I can hear a
Dumb muthafucka with a gun
And if I'm rollin off the 8, he'll be tha one
That I take out, and then get away
And while I'm drivin off laughin
This is what I'll say
Fuck the police (4X)
The jury has found you guilty of bein a redneck,
whitebread, chickenshit muthafucka.
Wait, that's a lie. That's a goddamn lie.
I want justice! I want justice!
Fuck you, you black muthafucka!>
Fuck the police (3X)
You're still missing the bigger point behind the actual music and the history of it's origins. Who gives a flying fuck about individual rappers, that's not what this is about, it's about PROTEST. Teaching kids the history of NON VIOLENT PROTEST THROUGH MUSIC. One of America's most influential mediums. Here's the formula to 80% of all hip-hop:
1. Claim you're the world's best MC. Your claim should include boasts of sexual prowess or physical toughness (preferably both)
2. State that all other MCs are either substandard or homosexual. Threatening violence is ok.
3. Reference your high net worth.
4. Describe in detail the material goods your high net worth affords you.
5. Include at least one reference to a club. Make sure it contains the words "Cristal" and "VIP" .
6. Don't forget the bitches in the club. As a rule of thumb, if there's no bitches, it's not hip-hop.
7. Describe how the bitches are impressed with either: a) the size of your financial estate, b) the size of your *****, or c) both.
8. Brag about how your large______ enabled you to have sexual relations with the bitches and then send them packing.
9. Reiterate your claim as being the world's best MC.
10. Give a shoutout to your producer.

It's your job to protect your kids from things you don't want them to see.Because in the end the children see these asshats and want to emulate them..Which 98% of the time is not a good thing..
That is the problem,Then they call their women bitches and ho's..
The only people who buy the load of crap in these songs are white guilt feeling morons from the suburbs who know nothing about how things really are. I'm in the ghetto every day and I assure you your imagination isn't vivid enough to even fathom the kind of crime and other sub-human shit I see. If those animals want to bitch about how unfair everything is while looking to rob, steal, rape, murder and do every other despicable act known to man they can, they can sing into my fucking Glock.Dude.. come on, it's obviously more than learning about the music. There was a MASSIVE movement into the genre of music that influenced countless peoples lives. In the same way that the words of the founding fathers influenced great thinkers who came after them, the same thing happens with music, and yes, even rap and hip hop.
Did you really just compare the vile garbage that comes from rappers to the wisdom of our founding fathers? You have just proven your own stupidity beyond question - nice.
Yes folks, when you argue with padawa, this is who you are arguing with. Don't you wish you could have that time back now?
Ever wonder why Bill OReilly and the rest of the mainstream media gets so bent out of shape when some new popular rap song comes out? Because it's a threat to them, a threat to their way of pushing right wing propaganda or a political agenda. There's no political agenda involved in rapping, only truth as experienced by the rapper.
WTF? What right wing agenda are you talking about? You mean like not committing crime and beating women? You mean like being a productive member of society? Yep, thats some real Right wing propaganda alright.
Cop Killer is one of the best examples. Fuck the Police also comes to mind as a great rap song. This music is a form of protest, and it's completely non violent, what more could someone ask for?
No. You misunderstood my post. I used the founding fathers as an example of the way words, like the lyrics in rap music, can influence entire groups of people. Have you ever read rap lyrics? Did you read the ones I posted for Fuck the Police? Do you understand the message that song is telling?Did you really just compare the vile garbage that comes from rappers to the wisdom of our founding fathers? You have just proven your own stupidity beyond question - nice.
Yes folks, when you argue with padawa, this is who you are arguing with. Don't you wish you could have that time back now?
I mean the conservative Christian right wing agenda that the fundamental sect of the Republican party has taken over. An example of what I mean is my personal public education, I just realized this week I hadn't ever learned of the Oklahoma City bombing or the causes and influences for why it happened when I was growing up going through school. I didn't learn much about the WTC bombing the first time in 93... Our public education system is designed to tell kids "America is great, and anyone opposed to America is an enemy" - it's selective learning, we learn the good things America did - which there are plenty - but never the bad things, never the stuff that makes America look like there might actually be some things wrong with her. What's wrong with pointing out the things in one's own society that are bad for that society? Internal criticism is non existent in the American public education system, and there IS DEFINITELY something wrong with that.WTF? What right wing agenda are you talking about? You mean like not committing crime and beating women? You mean like being a productive member of society? Yep, thats some real Right wing propaganda alright.
Such a pity you only see the "animals" and not the equal human beings. One day when you need something, you might change your mind my friend. The only people who buy the load of crap in these songs are white guilt feeling morons from the suburbs who know nothing about how things really are. I'm in the ghetto every day and I assure you your imagination isn't vivid enough to even fathom the kind of crime and other sub-human shit I see. If those animals want to bitch about how unfair everything is while looking to rob, steal, rape, murder and do every other despicable act known to man they can, they can sing into my fucking Glock.
It's not a racial issue, it's an economic one. Ever heard of Eminem? Dude is totally white.Get a clue man, those songs are made for no other purpose than to make money and to pull the wool over the eyes of white suburban idiots who are feeble minded enough to buy that white guilt crap.
What we see above are perfect examples of why our schools are in such desperate need of an overhaul. You have Dukeofbaja who labels everything as racist, homophobic, sexist, etc, because he lacks the mental dexterity to do anything more. And, you have good old Padawan who has jumped into Left wing extremism with both feet and has become mired down in it so far that he actually mistakes Left wing bullshit and profit motivated "crap music" as some kind of "truth" that is a cure for an imaginary Right wing agenda that has prevailed in our schools.
People with objective minds teach that America has been a tremendous force for good on this planet because it has - not because of any agenda. Young children are not taught about horrible things that go on because those things are not deemed appropriate for children. These things are left for later as they should be.
So very objective is Rick that he has just labeled the entire hip hop culture movement as 'crap music'. So very objective.
You might want to note that I came out of public schools with very different beliefs then the ones I have now. I was rah rah shish boom bah for manifest destiny and yay for America. It was only after learning what was not taught in public school, like the real story of Thanksgiving and the genocide of native peoples, that I started to get away from those previous beliefs.
And I don't label everything as racist, just statements that express racism. Like this gem:
If those animals want to bitch about how unfair everything is while looking to rob, steal, rape, murder and do every other despicable act known to man they can, they can sing into my fucking Glock.
Like I said, if you actually READ some of the lyrics you would have a better understanding of what I'm talking about. What we see above are perfect examples of why our schools are in such desperate need of an overhaul.
No. Young children aren't taught about things that show America in a not so pleasant light because that would influence the mind of the child and maybe make them question things a little more, or look a little more closely at causes/effects of American international influence. This is contrary to getting kids to strap on the uniform and join the military to go fight for America's greatness.People with objective minds teach that America has been a tremendous force for good on this planet because it has - not because of any agenda. Young children are not taught about horrible things that go on because those things are not deemed appropriate for children. These things are left for later as they should be.
Have you ever read the bible? There's quite a bit of slavery going on in there... How do you reconcile that with what you just said? Many of our founding fathers, including those who themselves owned slaves, argued that slavery was immoral and led the charge in its eradication. And this argument was based 100% on Christian teachings.
