Strange Leaves

Well the plant is about 5 weeks old still in veg (going for a monster bush) and she has about 3 or 4 of these leaves they are twisted like they grew at a 90 degree angle the brown spots still feel like regular leaves, any help is appreciated!!!

im not experienced grower, but in my opinion youre low on nutrients or the ph is wrong. i have never seen the leaf curl down like that, but tips of your plant are brown and i have the same problem. little strange, because color of your leafs is gr8.

what kind of lights are you using and how close are they. that brown spot looks to me like a burn

using 5 26 watt Daylight cfl's about 2-3 inches away....its in a DWC so i keep ph under tight wraps i shoot for 5.8 but the plant seems like its pretty stubborn on staying at 5.9 only thing i can think of would be low nutes i dont have a tds meter so i cant check exactly, thanks for the help so far and any more input is appreciated!!

contrary to popular belief, cfls will burn the shit out of your plants. is it possible that those brown spots could line up with the bulbs if the leaf were to stretch itself out. ive used cfls for suplement lighting in a small grow cab i had a few years ago and i would find brown burn spots on my leaf fringes that looked similar to the one in your pic. i found out that they were getting burned by my cfls on the side...i dont think its any sort of def or nute burn....ive been wrong before though

Have you used nute on them, for me thats one of two things... 1. Nute burn or 2. Your lights are too close to your plants. Also, any bugs you can spot?

No bugs, Been using nutes since day 1 (hydro), one strange thing is 2 of the other leaves with the problem have the brown spotted in a few places but always has 1 big brown spot somewhere on the leaf

Hmph, you can try cutting on the nutes a bit because it can be in fact nute burn, how much are you using?

using a touch less than 4 tablespoons in a 5 gallon bucket DWC of Floranova Grow ill go run snap a pic of the whole plant so yall can see the entire size

nice grow for cfls, way to go. is it in an isolated area towards the top of the plant im sticking with light burn. unless you are experiencing this in the lower or middle areas of the plant. then that changes things

thanks man! ive put alot of work in to her, the problem is only on the top of the plant but what makes me not think its light burn is the fact that one leaf has a spot thats very far away from any of the lights while some leaves that are very close are perfectly fine

Your problem is the foil reflecting hot spots onto your leaves. Scratch the foil and they should go away eventually.

foils just being used to keep light out of bucket some leaves are browning that light from the tin foil couldnt hit
