Is it possible that I have too many plants in such a small area?? I am using an aeroponics system with some clones using 9 100w 6500k cfl's. They havent really been doing much so I was wondering what the deal was with these. I got the design from another thread here, timer is 1 min. on and 4 minutes off using only water and clonex solution. Please help thank you!!

They are not dead, they are nice and green, just a few of them are droopy. A few of these are just the stems in the net pot with the neoprene collar to hold in place. Will these be ok if I dont water them for a day or so?

I will take a few more close up pics and post them here in a minute

here they are. The ones that are in soil I took out of the bin, I will let them dry out for 24 hours. The ones that are just stems in the collar I left in because there is no water retention there.

well i'm not experienced in aero, but I wouldn't water them again until they pick up and stop drooping. dont let the roots dry out, but don't water them every 5 mins try every 15-30 mins.

I actually used stinkbuds system he had posted in his thread "harvest a pound every 3 weeks"

Wow,serious overwatering, if the medium they are in is saturated with water then it's definately overwatering. The droopiness simulates overwatering usually, dont water them until they are standing straight up at the light. I'd change your flood schedule to every hour until they are growing well,if it is indeed a flood drain setup.

I am using stinkbuds aeroponics setup. Basically in the pics you see, I have 6 ex clone nozzles that spray for one minute on, and 4 minutes off. This is what he uses and the hydro guys around my house say to use the same thing. I think they were just overwatered when they were in the bubbler system I had before, which is why i switched systems. I will let them dry out until they are looking better though.

Its amazing, as a newbie to growing, how easy it is to over water! Thanks for the info

if you leave the sprayers off for too long in that setup youll just kill them "dont water them for a day" will kill them.

If they are not sitting in water, i dont see what the issue is, but im pretty sure you cannot over water with the stinkbud setup. Some people leave the sprayers on all the time.

if you just changed the rez, they can droop like that, i just learned that today.

Dont take them off the sprayers. I put 14 in, all rooted. I was surpised that they did not droop at all when i first put them in in less than 15% humidity and no dome. Then I moved them to the veg unit after and they looked droopy as fuck. Dont freak out if you just changed the rez =)

Strange that you show the same problems with your plants that are in soil, as a new grower you probably would be better off sticking with normal soil grow before trying the more difficult growing methods. Those plants will not produce as much as they would have if not damaged along the way. Yah they aren't dead but damage has been done and they WILL not produce as much as they would have being healthy the entire way. Your having issues at this stage even if you pull them out of it your going to run into other issues being so new. don't get discouraged trying to follow another expert growers suggestions when your new, try soil before giving up. Good luck and remember its very simple to transplant those into a pot with soil and watch them explode in growth. Good luck

Its also heartbreaking to be doing very good and see it all get fucked after a rez change and have to deal with that shit every rez change. Plants don't have to look beat up and then snap out of it each time, after a good res change this does NOT happen and its not good for your plants to be dam near killed each time and have to come out of shock and take several days to look normal again. Good luck and what nutes are you using btw?

It could have been much colder water that caused what I had happen, but people told me that this is common upon rez change in hydro setups.

Prolly cause temp diffs i bet. ie, incorrect rez change. shoulda made sure it was room tmp. this setup has seemed so easy for me i overestimated the strength of the plants and just threw em in there lol

What would be the best way to grow a few of these in soil? I dont know anything about soil growing. If you could tell me what type of soil to use, along with nutes and watering schedule, that would be awesome.

By the way, the plants are doing a lot better, I will try and get some pics by tomorrow. Thanks for all the help.

Also something I forgot to mention was that I brought the humidity up. I got some plastic cups, put a bunch of holes in them for ventilation and put them over the plants. I also put up a couple wet towels in the closet to bring up the humidity.

One other question. Can I trim some of the fan leaves in half in order to promote root growth? or should I leave them alone at this point? Thanks again

900 watts in fluorescent light is hardly efficient. wouldn't a single 600watt Metal halide make about as much light as that? If the roots aren't getting enough oxygen (overwatering) add a little hydrogen peroxide to the water.

If your going to set something up, set it up right. You don't always run into a bunch of problems your first grow in new systems, really depends on how informed you are. My first DWC was one of the best i've ever done. After all we have to learn sometime, trial and error. Hope your plants turn out.

If you want your plants to be doing better after a res. change it's quite simple. Just manipulate the res. solution you had in it prior. Approx. the same nutes ppm with same products, adaquate PH, and adaquate temps.
