Are you as tired of this as me?

Okay. I wanted to start this thread immediately after losing another 10 seconds of my life by reading a thread with the title "germinate seeds?" I'm not sure if it originally started as a joke to mess with noobs, but the seed germination process is now becoming WAY more complicated then it needs to be. Whatever happened to just moistening your soil or medium and placing them under the surface? You read about soaking them in shot glasses, paper towels, mild bleach water, and now my new favorite, "cooking them in the oven for 6 hours at 150f"!!! So, I wanted to vent a little and start a discussion to maybe quell this issue before newbie's start putting seeds up there ass for 36 hours to germinate

Well I think that when it comes to germinating seeds and most other aspects of growing, you just do what works best for you. I personally use a paper towel and put it in a zip-lock bag because it works fastest for me. I'm definitely not saying its the best way, but it works for me. I'm not going to put my seeds in the oven for 6 hours, but to each his own lol

I'm not getting down on any method that works... but there are alot of new growers who seem to be very confused. All i'm saying is, what ever happened to using the KISS method (keep it simple stupid)

well I recently lost a bunch of seeds because they were too moist and they were planted right in the medium possibly too deep. I have grown plenty of plants it just goes to show you that results vary depending on the method you choose and various circumstances. It might seem stupid but sometimes each seed is costing you upwards of 20$ a peice and poor germination techniques can get expensive fast. I think that there is a lot of valid information in the tips for germinating seeds...mild bleach solution helps kill fungus that might otherwise take over the plant from being too moist or if the seed takes longer to sprout the water can become stagnent and kill the seeds. I recently followed directions for germinating that included soaking the seeds in water than putting seeds in a a moist paper towel with fertilizer solution and than transplanting into medium and I must say I think it helped if anything it didn't hurt I had sprouts in llike 3 days from the first soaking.

There is nothing wrong with the KISS method. Most people do what works for them.However....that being said, alot of people are just lazy or don't know how to read. They are like sheep...they need to be told what to do.What they need to do is take 1 hour of their time to read about growing. If they can't read, then watch some grow videos. The only reason new growers are confused, is because right away they post " what do I do with seeds".... instead of finding it out for themselves.
Just my 2 cents

Alot of people make growing Cannabis harder than it has to be... :hump:

Plant a seed in dirt, or maybe peat pellet.(what i use).

Water the soil gently, put them in a warm environment, and under a light and soon they will germinate.

Why Is this so hard???

I guess it is for some??

Put the seeds between 2 moist paper towels in a ziplock bag for 24 hours, then plant them in your medium. Place the baggie on a heating pad on low for faster germination.

If someone needs a broken out step be step outline with pictures then maybe growing cannabis is not for them. Its not rocket science. Germination is probably the easiest part of the process. No having to worry about overwatering, underwatering, too much/too little nutes, lights too close/far....not sure why people have to complicate things,

Thats my vent

When I plant my summer tomato plants I put the seed directly in the ground and 2-3 days later seedlings are peeking out of the soil. I use pretty much the same method with pot seeds right into the peet pellets and then into the soil once they sprout 2-3 days later. It's so simple even a cave man can do it. Using any other method for getting seeds to germinate creates too many extra steps for the seedling and the potential to break or touch the tap root.

Agreed, I used to do the shot glass technique. Now I just used these, never had a failure.

Couldn't FUCKING agree more! I read probably 30 hours before I started growing. And I'm glad I did! Harved 45 G's off 1 plant under CFL's on my 1st grow; wouldn't have happened if I hadn't read as much as I did.
Thats the problem, nobody wants to read and grow correctly... They just want to be TOLD how to get bud ASAP..... They need to learn that it doesn't work that way...

you never heard of the anal technique of germinating? when you shit out the seed the lil plant has all the nutes in it it will need. then all you have to do is piss around it and throw up next to it

i hope no one is taking that seriously

i just put them between 2 paper towels on a small plate with a bowl over it. then i put my germ station on top of the cable box for warmth. as soon as i see a seed crack it gos in soil

ive also used the cup of water method

these threads are just as bad, if not worse, then the threads they were created to bash.
NO one is trying to bash anything. I started this thread to help people realize to not over think germination. It does not need to be complicated, but most new growers don't realize that when they read about 10 other ways to do the job.
