I am begining to think capitalism is the problem. Its a fine line to allow people to capitalize off of other people, and not expect the evil side of people to exploit it so completely.
And there in a nutshell you have the problem. The Capitalists develop a superior attitude and you are back to royality and serfs. Capitalism basically is the system whereby people with capital (money) make money off of other peoples labor. Just like the kings of old, it is the golden rule. He who has the gold, Rules. As explained above, everything is fine as long as you actually have superior people as capitalists, people that know how to treat their fellow man. The problems arise when Greed takes over and profit trumps all, The corporational Motto. The Corporation exists for only one reason, profit. Without it, it would collapse. That is why it is inherently evil. Profit sees no needs for employees health, employees benefits, liveable employees wages, or environmental concerns. Profit does not care if a corporation is a good citizen of the community, it has spin doctors to put make-up on the pig. The rise of the corporation was the demise of the citizen. Only the wealthy actually benefit from corporations. Point in fact, Union Carbide and Bohpal. They knew there were problems with the system and did not run the safety machinery that would have completely prevented the catastrophy. They equated the cost of repair and operating cost against the cost of the disaster, and the disaster cost was less, so they did nothing and Thousands died. They have yet to apologise or complete reparations, 25 years later.
