I was just wondering if any WW growers out there had any advice on when to flower. I haven't changed my lighting or 'nutes yet, but they're about 2 feet tall, and I know Widows grow very tall. I'm thinking about letting them grow to 3 ft before flowering-what do you think, my fellow herb liberators?:joint:

I havent grown mine yet, but you are right. They do get tall. I think if you start 12/12 now they may still get to around six foot high with out LST.

Real widow shouldn't grow that tall, by nature they should be mostly indica.

Unless you've bought a fake widow which is more towards the sativa side.

I don't know where you read that WW are mostly Indica. If anything, this award-winning strain is mostly Sativa, hence their height and high THC levels (often close to 25%). In fact, I read that WW was initially bred to be something around 70/30 Sativa/Indica, but the strain has evolved over the years due to poor breeding. The company I bought them from claims they are 50/50. I think I'll wait a while and let my Widows show me when they're ready to pre-flower. I'm just growing impatient as this is my first attempt at cultivation, hydro, no less. Wish me luck :peace:

Mine grew outside this summer. Good seeds DPs and all 9 grew to be at least 6 feet tall a few taller.Im 5'9" and no way could I reach to the tops. I had to bend them down to be able to see the tops of the plants. So under good conditions they can and do grow fairly tall. If you have the room to let them get tall then go for it veg longer..I did find during flowering they tend to not like heavy nutes..Also do to dense sticky colas and buds W.W. can tend to get bud rot so watch your humidity level...

Got some widow going now...I'm in day 38 of flower. I have a 600hps
beating down on them, and they stay fairly short.

You can check em out if you want...you got any pics.

I think vegging is the most important part of the plants life. My opinion is to let it veg for as long as you can handle it by staying within your limitations. I dont think anyone here can honestly give you a specific time on when to induce flowering. I personally would let mine veg for 6 months before I induced flowering if I could.

I have two WW in their 6th week of flower, I will say, I am not happy right now about my expected yield. But, that is another thread, dont want to hijack yours.

Well done for showing a great lack of knowledge.

Now your done with your rant why not learn something.

White widow the award winning strain, created by greenhouse seeds.

Now go look up greenhouse seeds, and watch their video on white widow and listen to them tell you that they created the award winning strain, which has 12%thc not 20 like these faker companies claim. Also check out its growth and listen to Arjan tell you its an indica strain

Thanks, friend. I have been keeping my humidity level at 50-55% since day 1. I read that lower humidity levels tend to result in higher THC content, but I also read that the ideal humidity level is 60%. Do you think I should adjust once I start seeing buds?

There is no need for nastiness. I have actually read quite a bit on this strain. I do appreciate the information though, and will happily read up on that. Please avoid unnecessary negativity-my post was not meant to be interpreted as a rant, and I'm sorry if I offended you. Thanks again for the advice.:peace:

Thanks, but I'm having no problems with stretching. Their stems are growing fatter everyday in fact. I think they may be all female too  I'll be switching their nutes soon, and then I'll change the light to 12/12 once they look like they're ready for it. Best.

white widow growers, do you notice that your top cola gets crystally last? All my bottom nugs are super white covered with crystals, my top nugs are bare of crystals, it seems like the crystal production is moving from the bottom up, is that possible?

Doesn't sound right to me...sounds like your plants are experiencing some kind of identity crisis. I have no idea-I thought the top of the plant should have more magic than the bottom, but you could probably just hang the tree upside down come harvest time, to let that good stuff trickle down.
