I sometimes poke the leaves down and pull the lower branches up on top of them. You can also train plants to catch more light. Those big leaves supply your main growing tips. Try some side lighting with CFL's. I don't cut off healthy leaves.

Dont cut them, tuck them behind the sites or tie them out of the way. The only fan leaf cutting is for screen grows.

yah, u don't want to cut the leaves.. i never understood why people would think this is a good idea, nothing personal, as i read this on here all the time.. especially in veg, the leaves are what collects the light that the plants use to convert into sugars and other things for food..
the way i was told it is that the leaves are the solar panels and the plant the batteries and the solar panels job are to hang out there in the light and absorb as much of it as it can to charge the batteries.. it always made sense to me..

Thank all you guys, i was about to bust out the scissors!.
&& RB71 you broke it down man lol it makes sense to me too.
I've also heard lo LST growing, would this help?.

You can buy plastic twist ties in the garden section of any big home improvement store. By the tomamto stuff.

I personally do cut my fan leaves and such, but its a V-scrog. And I still try to keep them by tucking first.
