First CFL Grow

This was my first grow, started Feb 3rd, 2010, when I started germinating bag seed (from a 'strain' known as 'Zona).

Transplanted into pots on Feb 7th, 2010 (Pic 1). Left the plants on my windowsill until I got 2 lights with 6500k, 100W bulbs (Pic 2). I started off with 11 plants (Pic 3), but then went down to 4 (Pic's 4-Eight)

Started flowering on March, 18th along with replanting (Pic 9). I didn't realize how crowded the root space was (which accounts for stunted growth.) Also, I was severly under/overwatering. But now i'm pretty sure I learned my lesson. Next grow (which will be done with ordered seeds) will include another 4 lights, and stronger bulbs.

you need alot more light and alot closer, those to be honest look terrible, no offence meant.and stretched bad. those are 100w equivilent bulbs. for that many plant you should have at least 8-10 times as much light just for vegging, for flower you need like double that or preferabley more. im 2 weeks into flower already on my seeds i started on feb 1, each plant has about 10 main colas from lst.

that's one of the main things i learned this grow. I'm hopping to get around a gram off this plant.

i just started 3 new seedlings, each getting their own 42 watt cfl, with 2 23 watt supplements on top of that.

attached are the repotted pictures 4 days into flowering.

how far is your light away? do you have a oscilating fan on them to strengthen the stems and good airflow? that plant is gonna have to veg for like 3 weeks before its big enough to sexually mature and start flowering, i'd put it back on 24/0 till they show preflwers. those plants are still worth saving and doing something with them. they just got a lil stunted from lack of light.

now that they're in flowering, i have the bulb probably 2-3 inches away from the plants. yes there is a fan blowing on the plants. the plants have been on 12/12 for near a week, is it still safe to turn them back to veg light cycle with out them stressing out?

Ok, so if just focus all the lights (3 26w 65k and a 42 27k) on one plant, will that be enough?

If you use the light correctly it should be. Like Dark said, Id just scrap those ones u got now and focus on the new ones.. You need to reflect that light and not allow it to escape. I can see ur current set up is letting all the light escape. Sorry if I get frustrated.. I just hear this all the time and ppl wont listen most the time..

That amount of light will be good for vegging but not flowering... The best thing you can do is set up something around the plants to reflect the light back at them.. Something with a white flat surface works the best..

Look at all the light i have.. Thats a 400 watt hps with 6 26 watt cfls.. That is not excessive either, it is how much plants need to grow at a good rate..

the lights were only that far away (i assume you're refering to the one with 11 cups) because i was trying to get light on all of them. I'm down to 2 plants, and the lights are very close to them.

man seriously, if you saw how bright my closet is ud understand.. Its like looking into the sun... The camera cant even take pics with the lights on because its too bright.. but anyways, just go read RIU FAQs when the sites back up.. It is the most helpful advice I can give. "Things to know about lighting" is particulary helpful in understanding the amount of "lumens" a plant needs to grow..

I already know about all that stuff, although my current grow may not show it. I'm trying to work with what I have and what I can afford. I'll probably go out tomorrow and double the amount of light i have. I'll put the 2 current plants outside, and use 6 46w 65 for the 2 new seedlings?

I think ive started suffering eye damage for staring at my plants w/the light on too, lol, when i look away and get up i'll have big splotches where i cant see and just look dark. gotta get me some sunglasses. lol
