Auto White Russian - seed run - 400wHPS

OK, so I've been read the entire Autoflowering resource guide thread, and I'm ready to make an attempt at these incredible plants. Thanks to all who have made this such a great forum and place of learning.

I ordered a 10 pack of Auto White Russian Lowlife from sensible seeds. 9 looked fine and one was smashed. Oh well.. I guess that is the price you pay.. besides $70US hehe. oh well. That's why we're doing a seed run right?

I know it's slightly unconventional, but I will be counting days from the day the plants break through the surface of potted dirt. So counting days before then will be lettered A, B, C.. starting from the day of seed crack.

I am using a 2 x 2 ft floor space with a 400w HPS light. Light cycle is 20/4 throughout the whole grow. Using Fox Farms Organic Forrest soil. Pots will be 2.7 liters.

March 10th was Day A. I know this is a little in the past, I am moving an analogue journal to the digital realm

I am very interested in the breeding aspect this strain. I have not read anything about anyone else breeding them, so I am interested to learn how stable the strain is. I will be breeding 2 females with 2 males, one for each.

By Day B 8 seeds have sprouted.

On March 13 Day D all sprouts are planted.

I am numbering the sprouts in the order that their seeds cracked. ie. the first seed to crack is 1, second is 2 etc..

If you want to breed a couple of them I would advise doing another room, or you could read up on collecting pollen and just selectively pollinate branches of your female pistils. If you know what your doing then collecting and self pollinating is the way to go, but old fashion leave male and female together in seperate room will work also. Thats the one thing about autos is clones are pointless, so producing seeds is a must if you want to keep running them and not paying a seedbank each time. Ive got 13 auto aks, 10 Iranian shorties, 1 santa maria that most are going insided during my next veg time with other regular plants and Im going to experiment with a few outside in some big pots probably 5-7 gallon see if I can get them big as possible. #1 is the first sprout to make it above the surface

Day 2

#'s 2, 3 and 4 all make it up into the sun

Day 3

#5 joins in the fun!

1 - 4 are starting to look a little leggy for little plants.
re-potted all five into final pots, and still waiting on 6 - 9

good luck mate you growing them in a tent or just a open room?

I actually built a box outta 2x4's and hardboard. Maybe a little overkill.. but it's more of a "wardrobe" than a tent.

Bluffin - Thanks for the thoughts and encouragement. I do plan on selectively pollinating branches sometime around week 4. I will select a lot of them.. but keeping them together would be ideal right now.

Looks like 6 - 9 didn't make it to see the light of artificial day. kinda bummed about it. I have two guesses as to why I lost them. One, temperatures have been real hot. There was a heat wave, and for a short time I have had another 2 x 2 grow in my room, so ambient temps are up. Two, is maybe I should not have planted the sprouts directly in the FFOF soil. i Know these kids are sensitive to nutes, and I put them right into some rich soil.. oh well. rest in peace 6 - 9

ok, catching up to the present day.

DAY 17.

Confirmed Sex of all 5 plants.
1, 2, and 3 are female
4 and 5 are male

funny how that worked out. perfectly I would say.

plants are showing great growth and new leaves every single day.

Plants all look nice and healthy, growing well, Im wondering being the white russian if it would resemble the easy ryders as far as the yield, cause just from what Ive read is the yield was quite a bit lower, you know anything about the final product?

What kind of yield do they produce compared to the JD's Easy Ryders, Ive heard conflicting reports...if you can get some of that serious white russian smoke potency your gonna be stoked cause thats some knockout fire.
