a thimble of hash

What do you mean you warm yours? What is your process once you remove the hash from the silkscreen? Scoop it up with a spoon... then what? Collect it and use the small sheet of silkscreen to press the rest of the water out? And then do you just press it into a ball and store, or let it dry? I let mine dry overnight and it went from a 6 gram ball of hash to 3.5 grams and was hard as a rock.

you asked how to press dry hash.

i said "i warm it and use my hand".

i put the dried chunks in a glass jar and stick it in the oven with ONLY the heat from the PILOT LIGHT. this WARMS it. then i dump a few grams into my palm and using my thumb, i press it.

it hurts and takes forever.

:weed: :-P

Lol. Ok that makes sense. I dont have gas though... just electric so what would you assume would be a good temp to set it to? And how long should you let it stay in before you pull it out and start pressing by hand?

And is it done right after you pull it from the bags and pressed out water by hand or do you just let it sit overnight then do this process? Sorry for the questions... Just trying to perfect it :)

damn, you got me again. :bigjoint:

what i sometimes do is let it get almost dry. to the point where it won't push out water when you squeeze it but yet it is still pliable. it's a fine line between wet and rock hard. if you can find that line you can press it a little easier without the heat. it's still messy and kinda a pain. it gives it that gooeyness though. :blsmoke:

they make presses that will press the rock hard stuff. you end up with a rock hard puck though. i find the hash needs to be worked like taffy to get it gooey. i work it when i hand press it. folding it over itself as you go.

you don't want to over heat it. 100 degrees is plenty. you can dump it all into a thick plastic baggy and stick it in your pocket for a few hours. this should help it get soft and warm.:eyesmoke:

Ok cool so it needs to be worked over for a bit before it starts to get gooey. Gotcha. Next batch ill give it a try.

Thanks for the process :)

i actually look into one. it would be cheaper in the long run but i wouldn't use it often enough to warrant owning it. it would be in storage most of the time. i do about 4 to 5 loads a year. :bigjoint:

What are your thoughts on using dry ice instead of normal ice to the process? Would it work better making things cooler quicker and additionally "aggitating" the mix due to the co2 bubbles it creates under water?
