tips curling under?

Hey people, just wondering what causes leaf tips to curl under slightly? It dosnt look like a major problem at the moment but i buggered up my last plants so would like to fix any potential probs asap

Im only growing one plant just to see if i can get one all the way through

any ideas?

Yeah il try and include a pic, thats the plant in my avvy but the prob isnt very visable there

Im not ph'ing my water, im just using filtered rain water

I dont think that the container is deep enough... I ieally you would have a standard 3-5 gallon container. I can not tell for sure form the picture, but that looks like a shallow hanging flowering container... slight chance that the roots have hit bottom already... may or may not be a big dea... but worth noting

the soil should be mixed with perlite...

over all, that plants looks fooking fantastic.. a very nice tight indica...

Your container is fine...you won't need to transplant for awhile. Growing a small plant in a large container makes for a lazy root system. Always start small and up-pot as needed.

I think your plant is fine. I don't know what you are growing in...but don't water too much if it's in soil or a peat based mix. Use the lift method. Lift the pot after you water...learn how it feels. Lift it every day and notice the difference. When it feels light...it's ready to water.

I think the pic is deceiving because of the angle, its about 7" deep

Doh, didnt know i needed to mix the soil with perlite oooops! Its just some john innes seedling soil i used

Il put a few more pics up when i see some more good growth, hoping for a nice plant as its a big bang from greenhouse seed company

Your plant looks healthy

And watering is different amongst plants. As mentioned, I'd use the weight method if you don't have a test.

Pick up your pot after you've just watered it and see how heavy it is. Once it starts feeling much more light than that after a few days, give it some water


A moisture tester is nice for these things. Your soil may be dry on top but if you've got a deep pot it's still probably moist down in the soil a few inches deep
