Colors of trichomes?

Yeah this question is about the color of those water drop looking trichomes. ive found amber once clear ones blue ones redish ones orange and shit. what do the dif colors mean? and do they go to dif strains like sativa indica? or what. what establishes it to an amber trichome?

Trichromosomes tell when it is time to harvest your marijuana. The only two colors that I am aware is different shades of white and shades of amber. The color of your trichromes can also determine what kind of high you recieve from you weed. I harvest when the trichrome are a cloudy white, and the reason I do this is I find that you get more of a trippy high when harvested a little early. Books will tell you that you should harvest when 90% of your trichromes are early, but I find that it is less heady if you harvest when your trichromes are amber. But according to most the perfect time is when they are amber. I believe it is personal preference. Just don't harvest when the amber trichromes start to darken because then you will start to lose potency in your marijuana

I meant when 90% of your trichromes are amber not early sorry about that mistake. Also it doesn't matter if its an indica or sativa trichromes are trichromes.

yeh,they start off clear,then cloudy,then a honey color,than dark amber.Depends on the strain,and type of high its gives,past the cloudy,its mostly lazy body high.

I gotta agree with drlearysbud, I like to harvest when about half of the tichomes turn milky, the other half clear. Gives a nice head high that most people actually like and prefer. The MJ bible also agrees with this method.

To address the q: about the blue,green,and red trichomes.I noticed the same thing.The colors aren't from the trichomes.The colors of the surface of the table,your green shirt and other bright colors in the room can be reflected in the trichomes.

thanx because ive read that there are only clear and amber trichomes. so u guys think that it is best to harvest when about half of them are amber and half of them are clear/milky?

You could havest when they are half and half and that would be just fine. But I like to harvest more 75/25. 75 percent milky and 25 percent amber. Get that head high and settle for nothing less

Do you find that the color of the trichromes can affect how long the high lasts?

For example I hear O.G. Kush is a 5 hour high, if you harvested before the recommended 60% amber 40% clear/cloudy(recommended in the indoor bible.) will the high last less long?

I have heard that it does and thought that may be good info for the thread starter, not hijacking

^^^ If you are looking for something heady and strong I agree with him. I don't think trichrome harvest early are going to extend your high any longer than it would normally be I think it is just a different effect than when harvesting amber trichromes imo
