Fertilizer/ Early Flowering Question

Hey guys,

I'm currently on my 8th day of growth and have a question on whether to use fertilizer or not. I plan to kick my plant into flowering when it has developed 4 sets of true leaves ( about 8-10 more days from now) .. Is there any point in adding nutrients? Or should I just nute when it's in flowering

Thanks :joint:

I am not sure what kind of soil you are using, but soil like foxfarm has enough nutrients to last about two week.(From my trial and error). Let the plant talk to you she should tell you when to add nutrients. I would say though after about 2 weeks start adding nutes depending on soil used. My advice is to start out with a 1/4 concentration for about a week, then move up to about 1/2 concentration. But remember to always listen to your plant she will tell you what she needs.

^ true man, im using FF soil which has alot of nutes but i starting fertilizing after 3 weeks, 1/2 strength. no need for ferting earlier as this can be too harsh for seedlings. feed every other watering, watch the dosage..in the begining..less is more..

Ok thanks.. but I am asking since I'm planning to switch to flowering at let's say at exactly 21 days ( 3 weeks) .. Is there ANY point in adding nutrients for one feeding or should I just skip and just add them in flowering?

thanks again to those who replied

My advice to you would be just start feeding when you switch to flowering it will be easier for you and won't stress your plants. Like the other guy and I said just go with either 1/4 or 1/2 feeding every other watering and you will be fine.

So what brand of soil (your using soil, right?) are you using.
If its not pre-fertilized you should add fertilizers after about 10 days. If it is you'r set for 3 weeks.

When flowering so fast you'd need to give it growth fertilizer for the first 3 weeks of 12\12, then when pistils are starting to build up you should gradually change to flowering fertilizer.

na man i would def nute before flowering, use a "veg" nute such as FF grow big (i would also use a tiny bit of bloom nutes as well). this is will be good for your plant beacause it will have already been introduced to nutrients and will not be "shocked" on the first feeding.this will give your plant the nitrogen and other essential nutrients that will help in the begininng of the flowering process, i think if u nute a t least one time half strength before u flip the switch ull be good man

the plant have lots of nutes in the soil already. you need to ADD fertilizers when it consumes the food thats already there. It takes about 3-4 weeks until it should run low on food from the pre-fertilized soil.

by using a fertilizer too early you run a risk of overfeeding.
