Need to exhaust a 10x7x7 room

What supplies would you recommend? I was going to DIY but some of these builds look like they might not be enough for a room of this size.

What do you guys recommend for tubing/filter/fan? My 400w has a hood with I think 6" holes on both sides.

i would say ditch the room and move to something smaller that is a tiny light for such a big room but would thrive in a closet does ur hood have tempered glass over it

I don't know if it's tempered but I would guess that it is. I plan on adding 1 or 2 more lights soon so I'll be sticking with this room. I just need to exhaust through a filter to get rid of this crazy smell.

canfan combo high output, fan & filter 6" around 400.00 for the combo. make sure you get 6" flex that is black on the inside. should be good for 2 or 3 400 watters.

Just go to home depot and get a 8" inline duct booster (45.00) its 370 cfm i think in that range, with a 8" to 6" reducer and some 6" ducting, than find online a 6" carbonair filter replacement (8.00) get some chicken wire to make a 6" cylinder type tube the length of the filter, wrap the filter around the wire cage thats connected to your ducting. works great only cost my about 75.00 total.good luck

If you need the heat, don't vent the light first off. Once the room starts getting vented it will get cooler. Those vented hoods are for rooms running ten lights or more. Second off, multiply your room height by width by length then divide by 3 for the three minutes to evacuate the air and you have your recommended CFM. Then just get the matching CFM filter. My calculation shows 163 CFM but always go for more because a filter will reduce actual CFM flow. Hope that helps.

Four20.mpeg and West Coast Medicine, couldn't have asked for better advice I'll be checking out Home Depot today thanks. Oh yeah West Coast I do need the heat(it's a finished basement) you are right so I'll just make a scrubber then and add a dehumidifier since my humidity get over 60 sometimes. I've been researching this for a couple weeks and really didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars.

660cfm 6" tjerlund fan $100
550 cfm 6" Phresh filter $180 (for the smell)
Various flex pipe $30

Ok, so thats what im using in my room. 8'x9'x7' total feet. My room temps stay rock solid, and havent had to worry about smell for a moment. I know the fan im using is kinda big, even for my 1000W, but Ive always bought big to start, so I can grow into it. I would imagine with the big fan setup im using, you could probably run 2000watts in there w/o any problems. Once I get the hang of MJ, i will probably invest in another 1000w fixture and put them on movers to FILL that room! Expensive for sure, but I tried the cheap diy methods and it was such a pain in the ass for such poor performance. Hell, you want to grow a crop worth near a grand, might as well spend $500 and grow 4 of em.

Just my two cents, coming from a cheap ass do it yourself'er. best of luck to ya.

http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=29402 diy carbon scrubber... amazing design and works great, about 80 bucks and you can order large amounts of air phase carbon on ebay.... http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/active-air-400-cfm-inline-duct-fan-p-2754.html 6 inch fan, 80 bucks. 160 dollars total, carbon scrubber is easily refillable as long as you put in a 2 inch hole plug at the end, and it will last you a couple harvest before you need to refill. when i built mine, i did a 6 inch core with 8 inch outer core for 1 inch of carbon... it's up to you how thick you want to build it though, i was going for extra protection and hopefully to have the carbon last longer before it needs replaced.
