I think my clones are dying!

hey, hopefully some of you still check this thread...I am having a similar issue...WILTING...I took these clones about 8 hours ago....did everything by the book...I have them in rockwool that soaked in ph around 5.5 water and that had 1 ml/ gal ratio of superthrive....soaking rockwool in water always brings up the ph of the water so when i took them out i adjusted the ph to around 5.8-6.0 ph and used that same water in my res and in my spray bottle. misted them twice as of now... my humidity dome was cracked at first which only brought my humidity up to 71% then fell after that down to 37%... i've taken some pics and shut the dome completely and now have temps at 73 and humidity at 86 %...

By the way this is my little bubble cloner i made...tell me its going to work.....I heard those two came through ok but these stems are all drooped over and just lookin sad....if you've seen clones like this pull through and tell me I got a shot, i'll sleep much better tonight... also I'd like to add that a few cuttings were a little small as far as stem diameter....does stem diameter have a big impact on the success rate of cloning.....I have 16 cuttings here, it would be great if a few made it...

wow, and I didnt think It could get any worse... well thats good to know. I've noticed no better no worse, so my nerves are a bit calmer today. I've very lightly misted them twice today and have been misting the dome as needed. I'll post new pics when i see any changes...hopefully for the good

well, they dont appear to be dead by any means...its been 9 days now and most all stalks appear to be swollen around the base, they are all standing upright pretty much, so I've been confident.. but in the past few days i've noticed more and more yellowing of leaves....is this normal? I've taken them out of my bubbler because it was just a poor design...too much light was getting at the water and algea was growing and uping the PH of the water too much...so i took em out and put them in a container with a little bit of water and hydroton....still misting a few times a day and still have them under the humidity dome... when should the dome come off?

at this point i would stop misting,, maybe once a day.. and cut down the humidity inside the dome.. or youll get some fuzzy blue or white mold.. like mycelium.
wonder if you could grow mushies in a clone dome?

ahh....yea thanks for that but mold is not the issue here....its actually serious yellowing leaves on every single plant...i actually left the dome off by accident over night and two of them appear to have dried up.. but the rest are REALLY YELLOW!!! WTF!!! i mother fucking hate cloning i seriously can not believe this right now.

I've spent alot of extra money so I could have two mother plants growing in a seperate area.... to take clones from so I could have guarenteed females....did everything by the book and now have been patiently waiting for a week and a half now and now just in the past 2 days the amount of yellow leaves has doubled!!! someone must know something.....please.

Don't worry too much bro, in the dome they definitely try to freak you out by discoloring, make sure your cubes are not saturated and the roots will go looking, 80 degree temps and moist dome. Made the same mistake leaving my dome off. They eventually pulled through and are doing good now

they are feeding off themselves because they have no roots to take up food. this is why the leaves are turning yellow. this happens.

you have to STOP misting. you are watering them thru their leaves so they have had no reason to grow roots. you want them to dry out so they will grow roots. as long as you keep them as wet as they are they won't want to root. let them, and the cubes they are in, dry out a little. take off the dome and STOP misting.

of all the people on this site I'm glad you stopped in fdd...i trust in your words, im nervous about taking off the dome but..i did forget to put it on last night and they appeared to be ok with little change this morning because of it..so off it goes..

also I would like to add that i cracked a few rockwool blocks to get a closer look and everywhere that clonex made contact with the stalk..it appears to be "cauliflower like" no protruding "roots" just like a clump of white matter...i just hear people say they have roots in like as little as 4 days... but on average 7-10..well its been 12 days for me....this has given me a bit of hope. thank you very much guys.

hey thanks man, yea that did help...i think I'm gonna go get some of those rapid rooter plugs...i've seen them before....you can use those for hydro set ups too right?

ummm 24/ 7 light, high humidity cut all those leaves in half--- see my post about clones in here Water spritz is great. I would also like to mention the air bubble effect---when cutting a clone it is best done under water so you do not create an air embolism in the stalk. Take your cuttings then cut the rough branch down to clone size under water---H2o all of it cutting, resavoir, sprayer @ 5.5 ph Super thrrive fine 2 drops to a half gallon of H20 no more.
This is a piece of mint I got from the store and it was refrigerated and I cloned it after however long it was at the supermarket then a few days in my fridge till I decided what the heck let me apply my skill to that and Voila -----Clone from an old packaged vegatable from the market

LOL, as bad as that sounds there is much truth to that statement...I think its already working =) thanks guys i'll let you know the outcome of my 16 clones...hopefully in a few more days

You know, like a big leaf will pull it over. I find that if I cut off a few of the big bottom leaves the top ones perk up sooner.

I must be doing something right, clones are going into cups with roots at 8 days ready for some food.

Of course...my point, which I don't think was understood, was that they only need enough leaf matter to get them rooted. A bunch of saggy extra weighs the wilting clone down in the early hours and makes it all squiggly as it roots. It will yellow and then take off as soon as the roots take hold. Leaving a load of leaves is silly if you are cloning in a way that grows roots fast enough.

I learned along time ago that as long as you have green it will ive. Keep it moist and it will grow...... .02
