hey mr organic just a quick suggestion if you havn't already you should check out TLO (true living organics) where your soil is practically a living micro environment. theres tons of thing that stem off of TLO that is supposed to increase taste and flavor and stay true to its landrace strain that it was originally grown

anymore ideas anyone?
I've read a couple of ways of adding flavours to your buds, although I haven't tried any of them myself.

Adding an extract to your plants water during the end of flowering. The plant will absorb the extract and retain it when you harvest. When the bud is dried and cured the moisture evaporates but the extract dries into the fibres, thus giving the plant a flavour of the extract used.

The other method is to add your desired flavour to your bud while curing. Some citrus fruit peels, a concentrated extract/juice in a bottle pop bottle lid at the bottom of the jar, etc.

Again I haven't tried either of these methods, so I can't be certain they work. Hope I helped.

If you're not already using, you should check out blackstrap molasses. It is a great source of carbs(sugars), as well as many other goodies, and if you look at the ingredients in all of the "sweeteners" on the market, you will notice that they are all made almost entirely of it.

one thing u can do is start early. in veg u can use worm castings, Peruvian Seabird Guano, and Mexican Bat Guano. and for flowering Jamaican Bat Guano, and Indonesian Bat Guano. u will be tasting the bud for an hour after smoking and loving it.

yeah im already using bat guano and mollasses. but id be intrigued to try the different guanos on diff plants to see the taste difference.
i was wondering tho, i heard days ago that if you got blue berry extract and injected it into your plant thru your main stalk it would taste like blueberries and would work for other extracts, is this true? or should i just like add it to the water in doses like eskinny mentioned.

have you guys ever had weed grown near an ocean that had a somewhat hint of salty taste?

I don't think dosing your plant with extract would be wise. If you get full-strength citrus fruit extract on your skin you'll get a rash and it will burn, so imagine what it would do to your plants. It would drop your PH too.

Instead, give the plant the extract near harvest.

It's like dying white carnations with food colouring. They don't give the plants the colouring in it's feeding schedule. You wait until harvest, then you take the cut stalks and let them sit in a water/food colouring mix, and then a day later the white carnation's flowers have taken on the hue of the given colour.

Same would apply to pot. You want to give it the extract and then lock it in. I'm just starting a Juicy Fruit x Northern Lights x Skunk, and I'll be feeding with the Bio-Canna program. I'm going to experiment with a couple citrus extracts when it comes time to harvest.

well thats what i meant. if i add it like a few hours before i harvest it and give it enough time to get to the buds will the taste stick

This is internet myth/bullshit.

A good way to introduce mold and fuck up your carefully grown smoke.

No slam, but it's obvious you haven't tried them, because then you would know better. It is just constantly repeated hype.

To the OP.

If you have been growing organic, with the guanos, molasses and all, then just do a proper cure, you will have the best tasting bud, no question.:weed:

If you really want to buy into this internet bullshit, please, just do it on a small portion of your crop, so you don't ruin all of it.:hump:

Sounds like you are doing everything right so far. Keep it that way.

iv'e used sheesha while curing in jars with great success. I just leave a package partway open and leave it in there for 24 hours, then remove sheesha for a week and repeat. Vanilla works really great, nice subtle sweet flavour

no idea cant help. ???? Well I hope this idea helps as I read it in medical bible. The best taste is as stated prior by not adding all the crap. However interestingly enough the best way to get a sweeter taste is fluching with Reverse Osmosis H2o or Distilled if you do not have R.O about 12 days before picking. Or if you use a clear flush or nute flush. For me I am using a full heavy flush for the last 12 days. 3-4 gall of h2o in a 5 gallon nursery bucket each time at water. This is why I found I do not like the Color burst or grain/capsule time release feed as it still feeds when you trying to flush,

If you are growing organically, there is no need to flush. You only flush when you are adding chemicals. You are not giving food to the plant in organics, you are giving food to the microbes in the soil, who then eat it and release available nutrients to the plant. There is nothing the plant could flush. Ifyou are worried, just feed with EWC tea or water and blackstrap molasses for the last watering or two.

Mexican Bat guano will be your best tasting guano because it comes from bats what eat a bunch of fresh Mexican fruits. SO then it would stand to reason their poop would be the most sweet kind of poop you can get =D

Ok this is getting confusing. Why exactly would u think mexican bat guano would be "sweeter" than other bat guanos? you say because they feed on fresh fruit all the time? That sounds really silly. Mexican bat guano as well as all other bat guanos unless specifically marked is most likely from a majority of incect eating bats. I suppose chocolate milk comes from brown cows?

Furthermore why would u want to flavor marijuana during the drying/curing? Citrus peels?? Vanilla extract!? If u need to do that then maybe it's time to grow/buy some real buds. From better strains. Kush or the purples, maybe a nice blueberry strain.

The only flavors I want in my pot is of the unique taste of the beautiful strain. Does anyone have opinions on carb loads like bud candy? I wouldn't mind enhancing the already fruity/fuel taste of my nyc diesel.

i think he had a reasonable assumption to think that the fruit eating bats would have a "sweeter" guano, i personally have never thought about it, but would like to look into it more. Insect eating bats(mexican guano) tends to be high in nitrogen, while fruit eating bats(indonesian and jamaican) are higher phosphorus. So yes, depending on the type of guano, you will be able to use it in different applications.
i agree with you that you probably don't need to be flavoring your bud with citrus peels and what not, but i've never tried it so i can't knock it. It would probably be best to get the strain you are growing down before you start experimenting like that, or choose a more odorous strain.
i wouldn't waste my money on a carb product, they are almost entirely blackstrap molasses, so just get the real thing, it's much cheaper.
