Hi rollitup crew!
So my friend is growing (not me lol, I just buy). Problem is, she just got a GINORMUS light bill (not because of the plants, because of a faulty heating system in her home) and there is a slim chance she might not be able to get in the entire bill before they cut the lights....but worse case scenario, the electric would only be out 3 days, max.
She has a simple CFL setup with 6 plants going now. I believe there are about 12 6500k 23w CFL's and a can fan on it now. It puugs into a powerstrip and only takes one outlet to run.
What would you advise she do to ensure the plants get the light and the fan they need to survive for about 3 days with no electricty? Any battery-operated options to at least keep the light on the plants while she sorts out the bill?
Moving the plants is not an option (nosy and party-type neighbors...yes if she went to move at 4am, someone would STILL be up) and her current grow spot is VERY secure and light/smell proof. She is about 3 weeks into veg so no strong odor...yet. (growing a few autoflowers).
any advice on how to keep the lights and fan on in an emergency welcome!
Oh, and a generator is not an option...if she had money for a generator, she'd just pay the light bill! Unless a small quiet inexpensive one that can run in a ground floor apartment is available...
One could also use this information in an emergency of their own (ie bad storm and power gets cut out and not restored for awhile)....so please let's all help her and each other out!
thanks all for advice!
