Dark period before flowering

hello friends,

I just wanted to get an up to date opinion on something.

If I veg on an 18/6 schedule and the light goes off at 7pm, but before switching to flower I give it 24 hours of darkness, so instead the light would come on at 7pm. Will this stress my plant?

It would help with scheduling issues that's why.

Thanks in advance.

yes plain and simple.
im not saying it will hermie but inconsistant lighting will stress a plant id try and avoid it.

Yes I understand what you are saying. i mean I read in an edition of high times that 24 hours of dark was recommended before flowering, but there is divided opinion on it.

My other option is to go for consistency and keep the "lights on" time the same, however my veg box [unlike my flowerinb box] is not light proof and it will be hard to ensure no light enters during daytime [which is when my light is off].

24 hour lights of veg [which is what it is on now] seems a waste of electric, plus I think a plant needs time to rest :)

Has long has the light scedule is not changed after this the plant's will be fine.Greenhouse put there plant's under 48 hour's of uninterupted darkness so i suppose it will be fine. But i would not mess with the lighting times after this because if you are growing from femanised seed i'm 100% sure that this can cause the plant to become a hermi but the one change will be fine..............................................................................tyke......................................................................................

Thanks for all the advice.

I am pretty sure it will be fine too. I read the same about Greenhouse seeds doing 36 hours of dark before flower.

Ok well, the other debate is 24/0 over 18/6? I have read all about C3 plants not needing any dark period, and cannabis is a C3 plant etc etc... I like the idea of saving a little electric but at the end of the day if it makes my plant grow slower then I think screw it...

Who wants to get us started on which veg light schedule is best? xD always love this debate :P

Well I hear people do that because it creates more resin or something. Apparently makes the bud stronger in terms of highness and dankness :)

The risk is minimal too, 24 hours dark before chopping, I mean who cares if your plant turns hermie about 5minutes before you harvest it, lol I guess the plant probably does, but he/she has an eternity in heaven to look forward to :)

I'm still running 24/0 in veg, dont have the courage to adjust it down to 18/6 even :(
