Growing Nature in Nature

Hey guys whats up, this is my first post. A little less then a 2 weeks ago i germinated some seeds in a moist dvd case, most of them sprouted in the case, but i only wanted to plant 1. This is my first grow attempt btw.

what i did was took a water bottle and cut it starting at the bottom of the paper lable, put in my soil and some random white nutes i found around from other plants. Then i dug a hole in the ground to fit my getto pot and its about a week later and my baby is about a 2-2.5 inches, my question.....about when am i going to have to replant it into the ground so the roots growth isnt restricted? also can i just dig the bottle up and poke some holes in it to help root growth and also make water able to leak out these holes from watering?

Thanks. bongsmilie

you need holes in the bottom for water to drain so i would dig it up and do that now. Plants that young dont need nutes. I think the rule of thumb is to give nutes when they have 3 sets of true leaves. I would switch out the soil in the bottle to plain soil if possible or run the risk of burning and possibly killing your plant. If the bottle is clear you should be able to see the roots hitting the bottom of the bottle, when that happens you can either remove the plant from the bottle and re-plant it or cut the bottom of the bottle out and plant it like that.

Alright, thanks alot for the input, this morning i went outside and i cut the plastic bottle with a verticle cut, but the soil wasnt as packed down as i though, and everything including my plant fell out of the dirt, roots and all. I dug a hole similar to the waterbottles depth, and re-planted it as best i could. Will it still grow? ive seen stranger things happen, so i havent fully lost faith yeat.

Alright, so a few hours later i was going to go germinate some more seeds to make up for what could be the loss of my plant (still not sure if its going to survive the shock of exposed roots to the surface) but anyway, i found 3 seeds that germinated quite well, that ive forgot about in my dvd case, so i went out to plant them. 2 of them are in the ground, and 1 in another cut in half waterbottle. This time i cut a hole in the center of the bottem, 2 slits on the each side of the bottem, and 2 slits in middle to help let water out. If my small garden does start to grow, ill post some pics but its pretty boring now.

EDIT* heres a pic of my plant that is probally in shock

I just hope my first plant pulls through for me, some reassurance would be nice haha
