Question about clones

Hi everybody

I have 2 marijuana plants (started from clones) growing in my closet. They are under 5 26W 6500k. I feed them with Plant-Prod starter fertilizer, once a week.
My gold is to have as many clones as possible for June 15 to put them outside.
I had in mind to cut clones in 10 days, growing them until end of May and then re-cut clones. Is it possible to clone from a young plant?

Do you have any suggestions?

Or is it better to grow 2 bigger plants and then cut clones at the end of May?

Thanks

You could possibly get a couple off of those things. I would recommend just taking a few at a time, let the plant recover and get bigger and keep going with the cloning.

I would say that you probably want to let them get bigger before trying to take clones. The bigger the part of the plant that you cut off for a clone, the more likely that clone is to actually root and be successful.

I'd like to respectively disagree with this. I agree that he should wait for them to get a little bigger, but only so as to let the root systems of these small plants grow so the plant won't go through as much stress when taking cuttings. However, when you cut the "bigger" part of a plant to make a clone, it is in fact LESS likely to develop roots. The small, newer shoots near the bottom of the plant are the most viable candidates for cloning, as they contain more of the growth hormone needed to make roots.

I first found out about this while lurking around weed growing forums, but I have since found this to be quite true in my own cloning practices. I recently cut 15 clones from an Af-Wreck mother and 14 of them rooted in under 5 days. They are now about 9 or 10 days old and have dozens of roots absolutely bursting out of the rockwool. The 1 cutting that didn't root was a bigger (like over 1/4" stem) branch from near the top of the plant. I have also NEVER been able to clone the very top of a plant when it was older than a few weeks.

With that said, good luck my man hope the grow goes well! Peace RIU!
