This is like my 6th thread I've started for problems I have been having, but things just keep getting worse. I am battling powdery mildew atm and now the leaves are turning yellow with splotching just beggining.

-Im in week 4 of veg
-temps are around 80 lit 70ish dark
-nutes are GH 3part with zyme/diamond nectar/liquid karma/kool bloom
-ph is around 6.5

I have a feeling I may get mites soon, I will be using neem oil soon
I will try some baking soda or some stuff called defender next for PM
My plants are just starting to look like shit, I need help. I don't exactly know the issues. First time growing indoors.

I can get some better pictures with problem areas, I took these really fast.

Hi BCbuddy

If you are suffering with powdery mildew you can make a solution of
1 part milk to 5 parts water initially to kill the PM,
Then you can make a seperate solution which is 1 to 10 for precaution and use weekly

You could also use the nasty method of chemical PH up in water to around 8.5ph and spray the plants. The PM cannot live in this kind of PH and quickly breaks down.

"Milk kills PM so well that commercial rose growers have been using it for years" Quoted from URBAN GARDEN MAGAZINE.

Hope this helps bro.

i just wanted to add that you should give your growspace a good cleaning with a mild bleach solution

I figured this was something which everyone does weekly anyway. I do at least.
Once a week everything gets taken out stripped down and cleaned. Oscilating fans get completely taken apart and cleaned also.
I guess i just have good hygiene lol.

First of all thanks Jon. I've tried spraying with skim milk, one to 9. It went away for maybe 4-5 days then it was back. I would keep using it but A: it leaves a shiny, slightly smelly mucky coating all over the leaves. B: I know there has got to be a better (cleaner) product that can just wipe this issue out. I was told of some stuff called defender, probably similar to greencure. Baking soda has not been used yet as I think it's stupid to spray it all over my leaves just to raise the ph when i can spray high ph water instead. Also I don't think PM is my only problem, that's why I wrote this thread. Alot of leaves are turning yellowish and splotching, I really don't think it's a nute based issue or ph as I am careful with these. I dunno.

ok bcbuddy

lets start from scratch

system hydro soil lighting etc???

medium and mix?

temps day night?

RH day night ??

nutes?

strength of nutes ??

ph of nutes going in?

ph of runoff??

if in soil , soil ph?

any bugs?

check your medium too for anything crawling when you water??

lets get some precise readings for all aspects and lets see if we can nail this problem.

first things first Jondamon, no dew at light up yes I have more than 1 oscillating fan 24 hours.

Lights;
mhxhps 1000watt 24 inches away

Nutes;
GH3part grozyme, liquid karma, diamond nectar. I feed using a tried and tested growth chart from a local hydroponic store, I feed flush, feed flush etc

Medium;

HPpromix soilless

Temps;
25 and 15 (celsius)

Humidity (45 %)

PH;
6.3 ish and runoff is same

No bugs that I Know of but I have seen a lil bit of white dots starting but not a sign of anything under the leaves yet

the more i look at the silvering patches on your leaves the more its looking like thrips damage .

Do you have scratches on your leaves that are embossed ( slightly raised)

i had thrips once and could not see them til i flushed . thrips will leave silvery scratches and small brown/black fecal specks on leaves.

Out of interest what kind of PMP pest management programme do you have?

hey Jon honestly i haven't done any pest control really sofar. You gotta know this is my first grow (inexperienced) and I have watched every day for any sign of bugs. It has just been in the past couple days that I am realizing my plants are getting quite big and they are also showing some wierd leaf stuff, it is time to do something about it... There is no silvery raised lines or anything and if there is mites? the problem is very new and will be easily controllable. I really think all I need to do is treat the PM regularly with something that works, bugbomb my room then weekly sprays of the wonderful "neem oil" i have heard so much about and I should be okay, what do you think? That way with pyrethrum I'm nuking all areas of the little "bug world" got a better idea? Oh and hey man, I just wanted to really say thank you for stickin around, not being condescending and genuinely trying to help someone who really needs it at the moment. It's guys like you that make a community like this worth sticking around :) ~ ur BCbuddy (if this crop turns out to be sweet lovely sticky green kronic, the first phat I smoke is for you dawg, and if it's shitty I still smoke it for ya haha)

Hey Jonny, I checked ur thread out, nice first plants. Ya I just got home, I went and got neem oil, defender(PM) and cheesecloth for my intake as it sucks from the crawlspace beneath my trailer (nasty air) No wonder bugs r showing and I have PM lol at myself for being a dumb beginner, I'll get it figured out, thanks again man. Il link you to my actual grow journal once I get things sorted out and begin flowering, if your interested... peace

Hey Bc

yeah keep me posted. Almost definately thinking your intake is your problem and probably bringing in pests.

Get yourself some HOT SHOTS NO PEST STRIPS they really do the job. they release a penetrating vapour that kills everything in the room.

Check my thread again i have updated with the harvest pics of my BBC girls and the dry weight.
