growing w. lamps in student accomodation

hi. this is my first time growing but im posting here since my question is quite specific. i have a small student bedroom which has its own en-suite bathroom., which would be perfect since it is warm, bright and there is an extractor already in place.

i would probably want to use a 100w lamp only since i am going to have to receive this in the post through the student reception already hehe, and dont want anything too serious in such confined space.

my question is how big is the danger of being caught because of the electricity consumption? nevermind the smell, this appartment always smells of skunk anyway, and 4 of the 6 people are constantly using modern computers, so i was wondering if it would be too apparent or not.

if anyone is in the same situation please let me know what happened.. could they tell which room more electricity was being used does anyone think? i believe there is a seperate counter for each flat if this helps..

whats the juice on a computer anyway.. hardly more than 100w?

now i cant really voice for dorms and stuff, but normally 100w wouldnt get you caught.. they make 100watt incandecent bulbs, i think you will be just fine with a 100w. without risking and exposure becuase of elec.

computers will have, on average, a power supply capable of handling 400w. electricity wise you will have no problem. people talking though is a problem. pretty much if your room mates are going to know, everyone is going to know. also if you get caught your school will be one of the first to know. im also in a dorm, in the exact same situation. :)

ok thanks for the advice guys. i guess ill go for the 100w then :) ill keep my progress posted since everyone seems pretty helpful here...

Do you think some Ona would do the trick?Im doing a closet grw in my dorm rm right as we speak. Im going to flower it in about a week or two depending if i can fix a current problem im having with my baby, some weird leaf deformities, rather akward curling, are yellowish brown spots. I think its a over fert problem, wat u ppl think. I cant post pics as i have no digital cam. But yea, like i was sayin will ona be sufficent if used in larg amounts, im only growin out two.

Sooo, is that a yes, ona will be sufficent,or is that a no, it does its thing but not to the point where u can grow in a dormatory?

you should be able to do it. I use an ona block and a carbon scrubber and I have not one smell. alot of the time I turn off my scrubber and no smell either get the gel one so that you can refill it. but if you are strapped for cash, get the block but you are going to go through a couple of them throughout your grow.

Thxs 4 the advise, i got the gel stuff. Only prob is it dries out after one day of being left out and the rehydrator is like 35 40 buks cause the store in twn only has the large tubs of the stuff. But yea thats great to hear that u had success with the stuff! Iv done a test of the stuff, pretty much boxed my D-room with two plates of ona gel out and my neighbor said he didnt even notice i was burnin, even wen he enterd my room. He said that it made the hall aroound my door smell really fresh and like a freshly cleand public bathroom:mrgreen:

amps draw electricity not watts 100 watts draws 10 amp not hardly enough to put up any red flaggs
