12/12 from seed, mainly sativa

Has anyone tried 12/12 from seed with good results? I hear sativa dominant plants is the way to go for this. Maybe Strawberry Haze, or Super Lemon Haze Or Super Silver Haze?

Plants can still reach 3' apparently. Anyone got any input please?

You should be able to go 12/12 from start with any strain,
your just not letting it veg. ID give it at least two weeks of 18/6 or so though.

it doesnt sound like a good idea to me. i know that even starting 12/12 before you can see preflowers can delay flowering. to not even let the plant grow a single set of leaves just sounds even worse. get a grip and start from clone if you want to do that

i did 12/12 from seed in my current grow and I swear in about 3 weeks I had pistils LOL I had to back off and go 18/6 it because i didnt expect it to mature so quickly

why did you change back to 18/6 after such a succesful mission? :)

I have a bb x ww which has been going 12/12 for 26 days since germing. It's about 8" tall now and actually looks very nice. It showed pistils in under 3 weeks. I gave it 1/4 strength veg nutes, and changed to weak bloom nutes a few days ago.

I think sativas are better for 12/12 because their natural enivornment sometimes gives this to them. Apparently going 12/12 is a good way to keep sativas short. The pics below are pretty exciting, both results of 12/12 from seed...

you know size isn't everything, sometimes good things come in small packages :P

Well you got me worried, how small is small? Mine was at 8" when is started showing pistils, 12/12 from seed that is. It's growing daily now, I can see it getting to a couple of feet maybe.

Ive got 3 lemon skunk that are maybe 3 and half feet tall i put them straight into 12\12 from seed there are pistils everywhere so couldnt comment on yield yet but they look like they should giv a good one. I will start a grow journal tomorow with photos coz now is realy when the magic starts.

Well this is great news, lemon skunk too... close to my own choice. 3 and a half feet is sweet! How long have they been going since seed? and what size pots do you use? I was thinking 5 liters maximum for finishing in... any advice would be awesome...

And did you literally not veg at all?

Mine actually had 24 hours of veg before i put it into 12/12, no reason for that, at least no scientific one lol

Currently my sativa dominant strains of sour cream, strawberry haze, malawi 99 and arjan's haze #1 are finishing up. I did the lst thing on them and none of them are over two foot tall. This past sunday I chopped thirteen nice buds from the sour cream and put the bottom half of the plant back under my six hundred for another week. This weekend I'm chopping my strawberry haze, it will have gone eleven full weeks. The malawi 99 and arjan's haze I'll let go twelve or thirteen weeks. I vegged these plants for six weeks. A few weeks ago I bought a tent to start a mother or two, I decided just for fun to throw some beans in that I had collected from different weed and do a straight 12/12 from seed grow before I did the mother thing while my sativa finishes and to add a bit more to the stash since I only had four plants going. I soaked the beans in distilled water for twenty four hours then put them into the old paper towel to sprout. I put them into half gallon grow bags on the third of this month and they have been flowering for about five days now. The first ones started to flower in about sixteen days from seed. I wouldn't consider that delayed flowering. I try not to fall into the 'you can't do that' kind of thinking. You can do anything you want and don't let anybody tell you you can't. You learn from experience.

I started em in plastic party cups then put em in 4 litre pots leting em get root bound each time then finaly in 11 litre pots 2 finish. I had the light about 1 foot above the plants letting em strech a bit moving it up as the plant grew. they are 5 weeks old and yes as soon as they sprouted in my propagator i moved them straight into my chamber on 12/12. hope this helps bud

Cool man, yep that helps a lot. I may have to transfer to the 11 ltr at some point based on what you're doing. I'd be happy with four footers by the end.

Do yours have side branches, i.e. structured like a normal plant? Or are they just big single cola ones?

My WW x BB is 24 days from spouting and maybe at 8 or 9" now. Yours sound bigger, although 2 weeks older than me. Is this cos yours are mainly sativa? or can I expect increased growth rate over the next couple of weeks? maybe a bit of both.

Oh and how long do you reckon the whole process will take you? sprout to harvest.. not drying etc :)

Make sure you start that journal man, would love to see... I'll do the same I think once it's going.

As soon as they showed sex i put em in the 11 litres and moved the light up 2 about 2 foot coz if u miss the strech thats it you are left with a dwarf check my avatar that is a big bang i missed the strech wiv and i believe that is mostly sativa aswel? Yea they are all natural i aint touched em. i would say another 2 months. What lights u using? wot sized pots? How far away are your lights from the tops?

My light is a 600 hps, the pots are a choice of 1 litr, 5ltr, or 11ltr. Thing is when i transplant from a 1 litre to an 11 ltr I have issues. My medium is cellmax grow cubes, which might be the problem. What medium do you use?

My light is about 3 feet away, maybe 2.5 from the tops [heat issues]. Hopefully leaving them this far will make them stretch? I think the big bang is indica/sativa, not sure how much of each.

My super lemon skunk just arrived!!! YAY
