the chrome part where the bulbs go comes apart from like the base part of it so you canscrew through it and then put the chrome part back on, you'll see when you get it. you just slide the 3 little round things off and it comes apart. i screwed it to a piece of wood, 1" x 2" x 18" on top and 2 small eye hooks to hang it with chains. heres pics, forget about the turkey pan as it trapped to much heat, but did work as a reflector. and as i said before, thats what its all about is to help each other out to grow the best shit we can with what we have. i could have a big grow room or tent, but choose not to, i had it before, this is more fun the way im doing it, LoL.

I never really checked my temps until now to tell you the truth lol. You can judge pretty good on your own what is too hot for the plants, and i never ran into anything with heat, besides some slight burning from having the bulbs being to close. But i have re done my cab a bunch of times. Its a small lil cab, not too small, not too big, bu still small haha.
Right now im at a steady 80-84 throughout the day, my dimensions are; L 2ft 6in, W 1ft 9in, H 2ft 7in 31

I am stoked, I just need to pick up some hooks , i already have the jack chain needed to suspend the device. and i can get the turkey pan from the 99 cent store.

I read that i will get airy buds with cfl's, anyone else heard that?

Only thing i need is a piece of wood that matches the 1 X 2 X 18 (inches) and i have no saws or way to cut a 1X2. Any ideas where i could get something like that cut? does home depot do such small cuts if you buy the whole board?

You can get QUALITY buds out of CFL's, I've grown some myself haha, some of which im smoking now
i have followed alot of CFL threads, and trust me, its possible to get some dank and dense buds.

Daily pics from HELL BOX 2010

Temp is 88 degrees
tds ppm x 500= 1500ppm
flowering mix is a little high but i lower it with distilled water i make at home. I am checking it daily.I've been listening to the plant and my meter and every thing seems to be growing well.

I feel like there is something i should be doing that i'm not.. let's see

monitor nutrients.. check
Monitor water level.. check
monitor tempature ..check
Examine for bugs and problems daily..check
post favorite pic of the day.. check

can anyone think of anything i can do to my cabinet to improve it somehow? besides the light kit which i am stoked about.

thats always good for the marrage, just sneak in a grow room, LoL.

hey jp, i do believe they will cut it for you but you might have to buy the whole stick, not sure, i had some just laying around that i used. should only be a couple of dollars tho.

I kept the doors open a little more and temps were 86. i know a fan blowing into the cabinet would really help but i am still trying to keep somewhat of a stealth grow. I am happy as a stoner with a fresh bag of weed at 86 degrees hehe. As long as my lady doesn't mind, i don't mind the higher than optimum temperatures.

A thought on lights, If i go with 6 23 watt bulbs, Im going to be fighting the heat from twice as many bulbs. wont i still be up shit creek?

I have (3) 42 watt 2700k cfl's

well not sure, but should be about the same, 3 x 42= 126, and 6 x 23= 138, pretty close in watts.

Home Depot will cut it for you. I don't know if this is true for every location, but at the HD I frequent, back by the cutting station they have a cart labeled "Culled Lumber" that has random scraps of boards for super cheap. I bought a 4'x18" piece of culled pegboard that I'm going to make into a light fixture/reflector (once I cover it with Mylar). It cost me 51 cents and a very nice fellow was happy to cut it into four 2'x9" pieces for me.
