concealing my deck for outdoor growing?

alright so to make this easy ill post a picture of a deck similar to the one ill be growing on. the circled areas are showing that the posts around the deck are obviously open, i need a solution to cover the posts all around the deck that isn't expensive, wont require much work and wont make my deck look ghetto. and the line shows where the steps are but i can just install a little opening/closing gate that will keep critters away so ignore that.

are you looking to completely block it off? or just help hide it? Latuce (sorry if thats spelled wrong) seems like it would provide some cover and wouldnt look too out of the ordinary.

hmm that might work.. how much does it usually cost? gotta pay for school, rent and everything else so i cant be spending much. the cheapest solution that wont look suspicions is what im looking for.

Well if your worried about the look, your stupid. No offense. But its gonna reek to high heaven in a few months. Just keep that in mind.

why is caring about the look of my deck stupid? i have a nice little house, id like to keep it looking nice inside and out. im not just going to staple a black tarp around my deck lmao.

Because your nice little house is gonna be gone when the DEA comes knocking. Your neighbors are gonna smell it.

its only going to be 4-5 plants, im not turning my entire deck into a giant garden lol. and there are no houses behind mine. and the scent would be most noticable to my neighbors next door to me right? well my one neighbor next to me is my best friend that ive known for life and the other next door neighbor are my 2 cousins, both of which are big stoners. so i think im pretty safe.

ahhhhh surrounded by good neighbors. same here. allthough i dont have a pretty lil deck....ne ways the area u wan t to cover could be left alone. i think u said no neighbors to the back. and best friend one way. it would be difficult to tell an MJ plant thru those openings from 10 plus ft. lattice is a great idea at about 3 bucks a pop for like 7 ft. I was thinking plant some morning glorys in pots and let them twine and provide cover...that will really help all the green color youll have. If you like check out my journal as there is a bit of backyard gardening in there. a few pics taken from afar to show how MJ will blend when grown amongst other things....as far as smell gos.....Yeah its gonna stink. my yard smells like weed now but it has smelled like that since i moved in as Ive never hid the fact that I smoke......so good luck on ur grow.(u can click the number under journal entries too see pics of morning glorys and weed)

well i have 10ft of grass after the deck then there's this long wire fence, then about 100ft after the fence are condos. i highly doubt they will be able to see the plants since i can barely see theirs. and im positive its too far away to smell them. but sometimes kids will hop the fence to get back to the condos or hop the fence from there to get to the main road. so i dont want the wrong kid hopping the fence, noticing my plants and then taking off with any.

first you say rent then you say my deck, what is it rent or own ?

i live with a friend, we both bought the house but its in his name, we both pay for it. but before i moved i spent my whole life in apatments so saying rent is just natural for me.

if your not on the title you have no claim on the prop if you get into a n argument with your partner, there is nothing that stops him from having you removed from the house with you having no claim to the house , now as far as outside growing ,if kids cut through to the condos they will smell and come to see whats up you will get jacked ,its not worth the risk that is just my opinion , and get some kind of legal civil union contract with your assets listed ,good luck ....rob

well he wont, he has no reason to lol. and he doesnt have anyone else that could move in with him and help him pay for this place. plus if he kicked me out he would have no way in hell to pay for anything so he would just be screwing himself. i plan on getting my own place in 2-4 years anyway and he wouldnt make me leave until i had a new house to move into.

dammit some people on this forum are just too high lol. why are we trying to tell this guy what he should or should not do? he's a grownup ppl....he's just looking for material to cover his back porch, not a lecture! Unfortunately you probably won't be able to find good looking panel for very cheap. I would go to home depot/lowes and either get the big sheets of wood or just a lot of single pieces, stain them if necessary to help match the porch, and nail them up. Try to make it easily removable just in case.

ahahah thank you bill! seriously i thought i was about to get nowhere. im not hear to talk about my current living conditions for christ sake lol

If I were in your situation i would just do the boards because you won't have to buy, plant and maintain 10 tomato plants. Boards might cost around the same price and once it's up it's done. I'd only do the other plants if the ganja gets really tall and you need extra camo, but in that case you could also LST.

Add lots of plant material in pots. Annuals, perennials , camo-plants etc. Put showy plant material with large blooms such as Clematis, Hibiscus, Bougainvillea in the foreground to distract the casual observer. If you make it obvious that you are trying to hide something, people will be curious and inspect more closely. Keep them compact with selective pruning and/or LST. If cost is your biggest consideration then maybe you should rethink your grow site. Would $100 worth of plants be worth it to avoid the potential time in prison?

I like a natural look.

Strategically placed patio furniture and potted plants placed to look natural, but somehow they completely block an outside view of your plants.

I've used Morning Glories for decades to help screen the view of my garden.
