so why do the fox farm ferts have such a low n p k, while miracle grow has like 20 20 20 and i know for a fact great plants can grow from each but why such a difference? is it because fox farms is organic and fertilizer steroids arent considered organic?

Well if you want to grow from miracle gro you have to be gentle with the watering because npk is so high.. fox farm could use nutes after 4 weeks or so just have to control your watering when you use miracle gro ;)

Those numbers are ratios that indicate the percentages of each nutrient in the fertilizer, not a measurement of quantity. 20-20-20, for example....the "20's" in that ratio don't really mean anything, other than to let you know that there is equal amounts of each nutrient in that type of fert. That means that 20-20-20 is the same mix as 1-1-1, or 1000-1000-1000.lol Basically, if the numbers are higher, that means that you are mixing a higher dose of nutes, if you mix it according to the manufacturer's directions. So, if you want to adjust that 20-20-20 fert to a 5-5-5 mix, you would mix it at 1/4 strength. Cannabis can't handle that much nutes at once, which is why all the ferts engineered for growing, have low ratios. They have us feeding our plants lower doses, more often, rather than frying them with 2 weeks worth, at once, like those 'high ratio' ferts do.LOL

im in the uk and ive heard a lot of usa boys talkin about foxfarm stuff but i cant seem to get it over here so ive been using miracle gro for quite a while, its a decent enuff soil and ive produced some good crops but u definetly do have to be careful, i dont add any nutes until my last week of veg.

well thats the thing. ill post some pics to show ya my results so far. oh and for the record im only using the nutrients, not soil. but anyway, my plants have never had any negative effects from it, and finally I bumped them up to FULL strength, 1 tablespoon per gallon, and nothing but growth growth growth. its literally like their on steroids. to be more specific though, i only water them with two gallons at full strength and then maybe one or two more just plain water.

here they are at two months old. they have been outside for three weeks. and their diet consists of MG 20 20 20, fish emulsion 5 1 1, and superthrive. the fish is not at full strength, i just use it as a boost for N during veg. but here they are...

With liquid ferts like that I would presume it dosen't matter, so long as you adjust it down to a lower amount so you don't fry them. As far as soil between Miracle Grow and Fox Farm, people seem to have far more issues with miracle grow dirt than say Ocean Forest.

Well I'm currently on my first grow and 3 days into flowering FF ocean forest has been great. Don't have to feed really all through veg(Depending on how long you veg) and don't have to worry about overwatering as much like MG.. I would recommend it as this is first grow for my and its been wonderful. Hope that helps
