Here's the ISS#5 plant. This is the one I was really excited about. Now I'm just intrigued more than anything.
This plant has always been the shortest of the lot by it's own accord. I barely had to top it. As it grew, until the time it reached about a foot-and-a-half tall, it looked magnificent in every way...practically perfect. I really liked how the pistils were really big and fat on this one. It seemed like it was just waiting to blow up.
I ignored the thing other than watering of course, and it continued to grow and flourish. It grew about another foot or foot-and-a-half again, and since it was in the back of the veg tent I never really inspected it for weeks on end I guess. Anyway, when I finally did I noticed something...
The plant grew perfectly normal up to about 1.5', and then something strange happened. It apparently reverted back to 1-fingered leaves and started working it's way back up again. It's now twice the height and is just starting to push out 5-fingered leaves again. So from halfway up the plant to its' top, the leaves are all 1, 2 (believe it or not!), 3, and 5-fingered leaves in the normal ascending order. Crazy huh?
I have no idea why the plant grew this way, or what it's going to do from here on out. I'm kinda disappointed since the genetics are apparently skewed on this one, but it'll be interesting to see what she does. If anyone has any real world experience with something like this please chime in!
