NEWBIES: Let me google that for you!

Unless the search tool on this forum has improved, it is faster to use Google.

People who say they want to grow and are not willing to learn the basic basics before they start asking questions, dont show much initiative. I doubt if they will ever harvest anything, unless they can get someone else to take care of the plants for them. I will try to help folks all I can, but if someone is too lazy to take the first baby steps by themselves, they are on their own.

Every day I come here and answer newbie questions, I have fun doing it, for me it is important to disspell all the myths and misinformation, but I feel ya because yes there are some that show no inititive but there several that do and there are some simple questions that seem to be continuously repeated but that is how the internet works and actually what has this sight ranked so high,,,,,the traffic which is created by some of those questions.

But for everyone else I gotta defend them, because there is nothing better than telling some new grower how to save or fix a plant and then having em come back with pic's of a healthy thriving plant,,,,if they had found the fix via google we would not get that joyful experience and that is why I do it

Its nothing to do with post counts its about helping others.

For those who didnt read, or didnt try to read my entire post. Try the google search. It's a search of rollitup.org only. (That's what the "site:rollitup.org blah blah" is on the search term). Not a google search of the entire world wide web. Its faster to use than RIU's search feature, doesnt require those visual security questions for new accounts, etc....

If you dont like this method, cool, move along, no need to artificially increase your post count by hating a method on the Internet for research.

I agree 100%...to a point.....to the people who say "there are no stupid questions"....yeah..there is...like....How do I water my plants?......or Can I use a flashlight to grow plants....I have seen really stupid questions.

Those links are good but sometimes newbies really want a mentor as i did when i first started many moons ago.
Looking back now i dont know why he put up with some of the silly questions i asked him but it sure did help getting first hand experience and having someone to bounce questions off and thats why you will never see me asking any questions on this site as i have all the answers(no hydro)through my experience and the help i have had. I am only here to help others out and not to ask questions.

Absolutely brilliantly spoken, I 100 % agree with you and as I gain valid knowledge I plan on helping new growers achieve success myself, for now i answer what I really know and read as much information as I can discarding what logically does not seem true and giving what does. Reading the bible for hours and days before I even started growing really really helped me too. KUDOS on that post FTW

I too concur with the both of you's.

I mainly come on here.. to check out grows and different strains. But there are times when I like to answer noob questions.. as long as I know the answer to them because sometimes they ask questions that are just.. well.... just hard to understand what they're wanting to know ya dig? But yeah, I especially agree with 'riddleme'. Nicely put my friend. +rep

The FAQ can be found at the top of the page when you enter any different forum.
Called STICKYS or threads that have been closed hold the answers.
So if you go in to the GENERAL GROWING forum there are FAQ/posts at the top like things to know about lighting and 101 questions etc.
