Plug and Chug. A couple small pumps and auto nutrient adjustments are done for you continously. Cheaper than the cost of a hobby grade conductivity meter.

Yes you simply dilute some fertilizer say a complete two part mix to say 3 times its normal dilution and have the controller add that solution as needed to maintain the EC. Or you use a float valve to maintain the water level and use simple cheap plastic solenoids to run concentrated nutrients in when the EC activates the soleniods. The containers holding the nutrients and water would need to be above the height of the reservoir water line so as to not need pumps to ove the fluids.
