At one point in time I had a seedling thy was so dark it was purple , but other than that I'm not sure. Just for shits and giggles you try to put blue food coloring into your water haha.

I believe certain strains carry that trait.. I forget who it was on here but someone had a thread about after you chop em put the bottom of the stem in food coloring and it turned that color for the most part ;)

i wouldn't want to smoke food colouring.

It's either in the genetics then pronounced by the grow, or its not. Besides, the best phenotypes of purple and blue strains are usually the none-purple/blue ones! look at DJ Shorts' Flo, for example.

I'm currently growing a blue strain but don't expect the bud to be blue.

Meh not worried about food coloring.. I'm not saying im gonna go do it to my buds, but I cant imagine food coloring can do any more harm than certain inorganic nutrients that I KNOW has been in at least some of the bud I have smoked over the years

Which is why I don'y buy my weed anymore and only grow organic ;)

Above all I think food coloring fucks up the flavor and could result in a harsher smoke.

If you have purple/blue genetics then lower the temperature during dark hours in flowering. That tends to be bring out the color a little.

Yeah I agree it would make out for a harsher smoke.. Basically weed being another color is just for looks. It doesn't make it any more potent than green. (Unless it's white because of mass trichomes) ^^
