and that extra cfl 42w looks really good. i would just take out that ag hood and get another 42 or maybe even 2 more..
could you slip a light in the bottom middle? looks a little dark there. maybe put it inside and make that piece of wood near the ag base to hold the bulb so the door can still be closed?
either way they look good, just might increase yield.. not sure but maybe!

I just found this to replace my hood.http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=49255 I like it only $85 shipped, I don't know if the cab can handle the extra heat..or if it is tall enough...dont have any head room...I'm bending them like crazy now...but for $85 I'll probably give it a try...looks like more mods in the future...
In fact the whole AG is going to the kitchen counter after this grow...tomatoes and jalapeños, love the salsa thing...
once summer hits, it's time to be headed to the lake..(new boat) no time for outside gardening..too hot anyway

Hey man I got a question..
My little cab is getting pretty full, and looks like I'm gonna have to remove the hood and either just keep raising it up or replace it with a small hps..
I've still got about a foot of room to the top of the cab...
My problem is heat control...If it's a little hot now then I'm guessing HPS is out of the question..How much hotter are they even if I vent it with it's own fan? How close can the tops get to the HPS, say a small like 150w or so?
Or just stick with the CFLs and build a lamp box something like this?
kinda like to maximize the yield with out to much craziness you know...

For the HPS, as long as you have proper ventilation, you'll never have to worry about too much heat. HIDs are very powerful, penetrate deeper than CFLs and are totally worth it.
I have a 600W HPS I use for flowering. HUGE DIFFERENCE!
Anyway, with HIDs, you don't wanna get too close because you'll start "light burning" your plants, whether there is heat or not. Just start at a decent height and move it down a couple inches every few days until you find the sweet spot.
Also, I'm no veteran. I'm still a newb in this field. I just do a LOT of research...

Well until I figure out how to get an HPS in my cab....thanks FOX, I'm in...
I might as well use what I got...So had to build a little cage for my bigger cfl..works great ..and no heat difference from before the 42w was added...Hmm maybe it can handle an HPS
So the seedlings are 7 days from grem.... started them on nutes last night checked today and wowthis stuff really works....amazing..

Hi Mr. Natural Ive been trying to keep up w the thread but the plants r growing so fast!!! I have a few questions if u dnt mind helping a newbie out?? I have an aerogarden classic going on the strawberry setting w 2 babies on week 3 from germination and Im just not sure if I have them on the right setting?? I was also wondering when ur supposed to switch the light cycle and what light cycle u switch it to, Im not even sure if theyre vegging or what right now??? They r bout 6 inches tall already. I was also wondering if u had any tips on what to do bout the plants getting taller bcuz Im already on the tallest setting and I kno ur Deluxe system goes up to bout 3 ft but Im afraid mine r bout to start getting too tall for the classic hood I have??? I'm srry if this is all too much but Ive been trying to read up on the aerogarden as much as possible but I still feel so lost and confused. Thanks again in advance for any help and Im looking forward to seeing ur babies get to harvesting time and finishing out. Happy growing and keep up the good wrk!!! P.S. Ill try to upload some pics to help show u my situation and show my progress.

These guys have covered just about every question you could have...Fox's thread is aimed at the AG itself...and on the money!!!
Roseman's is more of a all round hydro lesson...takes a while to read but well worth it...When in doubt I go back and see what he did to solve what ever...Like the 8 steps to fixing any problem....genius really
Strawberry setting is OK, if its got a tomatoes setting thats better...
Strawberrys light cycle is 15 hours, tomatoes is 16 not much difference...You want more light at first or veg cycle...
I'm guessing its time for you top your babies and start to train them it's called LST..
Low Stress Training....get a string or wire and tie the branches down, gently, they bend pretty easy but careful they can break. Works great...
Toping them is also called pruning...Snip off the top at the top...Doubles the buds...ha ha it's that easy
Give them a week then.....
You need a timer and an 8 shaped cord to switch to flower cycle....which is the 12 hrs on 12 hrs off light cycle...The AG cant do this on its own you have to modify it a little, easy... make sure they get complete darkness.....Thats when they will show thier sex...takes about a week to 10 days....

Ive been reading on Fox's thread for awhile and it is really helpful w all the AG stuff and Ive modified mine a little to how Fox showed it on his thread w the airstone n stuff. But I just looked at Roseman's and it is really in depth and great stuff on there but it is ALOT of info like u said but Ill get thru it. But again thanks for the help and everything Mr. Natural and Ill surely keep u updated w my progress and hopefully I can start a journal soon w some pics so u can see. Look forward to seeing ur progress man and keep the world GREEN hahaha!

I have 2 seeds left from what I'm growing now. I think it's a matter of deciding.....what's better for second round set up.....cloning from my current grow, or starting 2 new from seeds...???
Shit though....I have to calculate if it'll go into the holidays...I might have family coming over!!! LOL.....can't have grows going, LOL!!!

I waited too long to clone..I think...definitely gonna try it next round, hated having to cut the males down...I'm going to cut a stem a give it a try any way but I not counting on it....and I have more than a few really good seeds, but sure would like to try some Northern Lights , looks ideal for my set up.....oh well, all things it time....I feel ya on the Stealth .......
