It is a Republican dead-heat. Some polls put Thompson at 3% and Paul at 7%.
Iowa and New Hampshire are critical for a real campaine kick-off. If Paul takes a solid fourth then Thompson is done.

Are they still allowing him on the debates. The dems have kicked off Gravel and Kucinich, the only two worth voting for.

So far, so good. As Mr. Russert pointed out this morning, Ron Paul was the top repub fundraiser this quarter. Some pundits pointed out that he has a very energized base. Now, every newshow talks about him a bit, before they delve into the real candidates.
What none of these shows mention is this, regular candidates are about dried up with big doner funding having been maxed. Somehow, republicans have to bring in new money to the party. Only Ron Paul seems able to do this. If he pulls a fourth place in IA, NH, or SC it will be major news. If he gets into solid double digits, it will be big news.
Right now he is viewed like Ross Perot or Ralph Nader. Candidates with no real chance of winning. Soon, he may break out of that mold, because he is NOT loosing ground.

I got to agree with you there. Gravel and Kucinich are the only two Dems I would vote for and there the two in last place. Funny how that happens. I guess, Paul is our only shot.

Some news pundits compare Ron Paul to your wacky uncle that comes over at Thanksgiving. But, they do respect him. Especially, for his energized base.
Most news hounds say Kucinich is definately in X-Files territory. Only his stunning wife, is really talked about.

I think you head the nail on the head with that one, GK. Change scares ppl. Even though, this country needs a change. They might be too radical for Mainstream society. Paul is picking up a lot of momentum. So we'll see.

I watched Ron Paul on meet the press (youtube). It was an uttter JOKE.. Ron PAUL came off as a total goofball who could not give any substantive answers.. it pained me to see him squirm in his seat..
It is a 4 part series on youtube.. I only watch the first 2 parts.. PAUL was getting stuck on every questions.. he had NO calmness about him...
I was starting to like Ron Paul... Now I have to put him back in the QUACK SECTION..
I HOPE HE RECOVERS..
as for NOW.. he is a total nut job in my book.. he doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.. LOL iloveyou
If I told you that blowing up the moon would help the earth.. I would HOPE that I could answer a simple question like,
"GK, How would blowing up the moon help the earth?"
Ron Paul could not answer any questions regarding his bold claims of removing the IRS...

Well, it does seem pretty strange that 7X hasn't commented about this, being that he is Pauls biggest supporter on this site. Time and money will tell the Ron Paul story, stay tuned.

To give PAUL a little credit..
He wants such huge reform that, it is very easy to attack him on SINGLE POINTS without seeing his entire vision... It is vital to see THE big picture when looking at PAUL, 'cause if you just look at small singular points, he can be picked apart by the "narrow minded SHEEP" (status quo pussies)..
It is kinda like holistic or oriental medicine... If one looks at the body as a million different pieces... then one can not understand oriental medicine.. Oriental medicine is about making the entire being healthy.. western medicine only FIXES the current problem wit a band aid.. and OFTEN creates new problems - IN OUR efforts to fix old problems (killing people always creates more problems you dueche bags)
I believe RON PAUL wants to fix the ENTIRE mechanism, the entire SYSTEM.. and therefore, people who only can see "PARTs" of the system, rather than see the entire system are missing his VISION...
But PAUL needs to learn how to explain this.. cause right now, he just sounds like a radical nut job with a vision and NO fooking plan...

I just watch the meet the press, and i did not view him as "squirming in his seat" he had logical explanations for what tim was asking him.
Now there are some things that i find odd about ron, how he just assumes isarel depends on us to fight their wars, how eliminating the irs could be detrimental (sure we will lose alot but that would be gained by the other political positions he stands for), and at the last interview how he answered with the mike huckabee thing.
He had good answers and the rest of the discussion was nicely put by him.
Though it worries me what he might to replace the fbi and cia, and i now finally agree with my friends, that to be a politician you have to be a liar.
But i still believe the guy is a much better candidate than the others, and
would out benefit his negatives.

TO ME, I could not understand how he was planning on implementing his plan... Nor did it seem like he had thought ABOUT how to implement his plans...
He has provocative and progressives ideas... BUT like I said.. THAT is not enough he need to be able to have a complete vision... You can't just stop collecting taxes... there needs to be a balance...
He needs to assure the people that it is a workable plan.. JUST becasue the constitution says something, does not mean that it is TRUE or that it can work...
