The Official Ghetto Growers Group

Also! Is there any way to keep my plant shorter? I'm trying my best to keep these unnoticeable in my house but if they get 4ft tall, that's gonna be a bit hard. I'd rather have a bushy fat plant than a tall skinny one.

LST my friend [ low stress training ]

you just tie your plant down, and it will bush out like CRAZY. tie the main stem over (gently) and in a few days the side branches will be shooting up, tie them over too, keep tieing throughout the entire grow as needed and you have one short, bushy, beasty plant!!

That is such a wicked looking plant!

yeah, weird huh, i call it LST gone wild, LoL. that one branch is bare because i keep cutting buds off it. i was gonna chop it and untied all the strings and when i put the strings back on it, they all just "twisted" to the side and made the pinwheel effect.

yeah, ive been pullin on them more and more, i really just want the dam thing to be done, LoL. jumbo, your buds were killer looking man, way to go!!

haha yea i deffinatly feel it man...
n thnx bro! im kinda pissed cuz i gotta dry it all out by tonight around 2 a.m so i can take it for the drive... really sad it wont taste n smell as good as it can =[

Well guys I was bored and decided some progress is better then no progress, so I threw the quickest....ghetto-est sig tag together I could...but I expect to be one up'd!

Hey everyone! I got to give props to all the ghetto growers on here, I've seen a lot of ingenuity and creative thinking so far. It's pretty awesome seeing how everyone has tackled obstacles they've run into on a low budget. I think it makes for even better herb because of the time and energy we put into our lovely ladies!

So here's my ghetto-rig. Not as ghetto as some on here, I was lucky enough to at least have a closet to grow in, but I have made everything myself pretty much. So here goes!
I'll start off by saying this is my first grow and I'm learning as I go along. I'm growing just two plants right now, one is Euforia and one is Brainstorm. Both are feminized seeds from Dutch Passion. They vegged under one 105W 5000K CFL and when they started flowering I added eight 23W 2700K CFLs which brings totals lumens to just under 20k. The reflector I made myself out of some 5/8" particle board, some heavy Matte board, HVAC aluminum tape, and the sockets and wiring all came from Lowe's. I've got one 120mm intake fan and one 120mm exhaust fan, both moving about 70cfm. I've also got two small personal desk fans from Target, one for each plant blowing on the top of them to maintain good airflow (my buddies ran into mold problems late into the flowering cycle. I've found small patches of condensation under some of the leaves that are touching which I figured would make a perfect habitat for mold to grow so that's why I added the two circulation fans). The ladies vegged for 5 weeks, Brainstorm was 12" and Euforia was 16". This will be day 13 in the flower cycle for them. The temperatures stay somewhere around 69-73 degrees during the day and just over 60 at night. Humidity stays between 58% - 64%.

Let me know what you all think and if you see any room for improvement

I'm definitely still in the ghetto, and I'm sure there are a lot of newcomers that haven't yet graduated to non-ghettofied growing. I'm down for a new one :)
