Im growing GDP, my babies jus rooted out of the cubes and i just transported into the 4x4 rockwool cube. i have about 39 clones in their first week under a 1000w mh. temperatures have been 85 highs and 70 low at night. My stems are starting to turn purple. I know that this happens sometimes because of cold, but knowing those tempteratures i dont know if this is the case. Do you guys think it is, or could it jus be a stress related thing because of the transplant for the small cube into the bigger cube?

Thanks in advance.

You took a picture of a computer screen with someone else's grow. You can tell this by the lines in the photo, it is not because you took it with an Iphone, but because you took a picture of a screen instead of the actual plants. Not cool, kinda lame

my last 3 grows the stems turned purple i think thats just part of the plants growth and is normal cause 70 at night is not cold by any means. its nothing to worry about unless there loosing structure and str.

Is GDP Grand Daddy Purps? Purple stems can be a genetic trait of some strains and does not necessarily mean there is a problem.

Also, I have seen lines like that in many different peoples' pictures in different forums about plant problems that I read. It is hard for me to believe that all those people are posting pictures of computer screens. Perhaps it is just something to do with the camera he's using. I don't know for sure either way, all I know is that I have seen it quite a few times from many random different people, and it makes no sense for anyone to do that.

quicknsleezy, He didn't take a picture of a screen you jackass... Pictures come out wierd sometimes in high light conditions. especially with cheaper cameras.

Those are not scan lines from a PC monitor. I have no idea what the shadows are, but I would not jump to the conclusion he took pictures from his computer screen of someone else's grow. It's probably that shity new iPhone he found while sitting at the bar talking to that guy from Apple..

my friend has an iphone, and he takes pictures of my plants. they come just like that.
did you really join just to say that? kinda lame

edit: back ON POINT... purple stems is no problem especially if it is grandaddy purps.many plants often go purple in cold temperatures, some turn purple at a lower temperature than others. so if its labelled as a purple strain, i would expect it to turn purple quite easily.

This is exactly what it is.... when I take pics from my blackberry it does the same thing... And trust me my grow is REAL! It is due to the intensity of the light... Some people are so quick to judge..

and as to the cause of the funky image effect, i believe someone was on the right track. my friends iphone would have those stripes only while the arc tube of the highpressure sodium was in view. he could photograph plants under cfls, or if he moved into the shade of the reflector he could photograph the plants under HPS
