2ftx4ftx7ft, T5 or HID?

I wouldnt waste my time with the t5. I have one and I dont even like to veg with it. your flowers will be alot harder with a hps. I would go with a 600 unless your going to exhaust the 1000 watt

Thanks for the input! Not at all what I expected to hear, but its god to hear it! I was kind of thinking with all the t5 sets I have maybe I could just hang them on the walls, along with the HPS, but if i use a HPS from start to finish, do i keep them at 24/0 for the veg state?

Since you have AC run to the room, I will suggest a 600w MH for veg and a 600w HPS for flower. Having said that; without a high quality, double-parabolic reflector, I would run 1000w MH/HPS with a cool-tube and high-flow centrifugal fan.

If you use HPS for the whole grow, use it as if it was any other light. 24/0 is fine, as long as you can keep the heat down.

That is a good idea for side lighting wouldnt hurt you could mayby get away with 1 t5 for the side lighting they run a little hot but not to bad. I would veg 18/6. I like how they stretch then I top them a week before flowering. also u will save money.

Just get the 600w hps and use from start to finish, and i find that you get stronger busher plants if you veg with 18/6. good luck.

Thanks for the advice!!!!!!!!

I have another question though :) In that link above it shows my closet.. I would LOVE to use the top part for a mother and clones, which i could use a T5 strip for. Also heat should not be an issue (As the other post shows i have AC in there).

I have for sure decided on a 650W HPS for flowering, but say I were to use the T5 8 bulb unit on the side during the whole grow, would that overpower the 650W hps and make the plants stretch twards it? I really would like to use at least 14-15 amps off the 20amp breaker i installed. In a few hours I will take pics of the two reflectors, so i can get feedback on which to use. Thanks so much!

Here are the two reflectors, yes I know they are dirty but I will fix that. In the middle of total house cleaning and organizing so some stuff is dirty!

Obviously the sun system is a better reflector, but I must admit I am not sure how to cool it properly, like I could with the cylindrical reflector.

If I am using the most reflective "paint" i can get, would there be a bonus for my area using the tube, over the Directed light from the sun system?

Thanks!

just run the 600 and the t5 for side lighting. Im interested to see what the t5 would do with side lighting. sounds like a good idea

As long as you make sure you dont have any light leaks from the vegging room to the flowering room while the HPS light is out you should not get hermies. But you could get hermies from other stresses.

sadly this is the only spot i have for growing, period.... Its the only 100% fullproof way for nobody to accidentally find it and I can get almost everything i need for it for free. That includes wood!

What size space is needed for a mother and say 9 clones, 1 month apart?

the space you are talking about is kinda small to partition off into two room. you would have better luck just buying a new set of clones everytime

I would just devote your space totally to flowering either a 600 or if you can keep it under 80 degrees I wold throw a 1,000 watt hps in there and veg with your t5

Have you considered auto-flowering plants? They would suit your grow; they average about an O a plant and wouldn't get too tall. You could then use the 600w HPS for the whole grow at 18/6. Paint the inside white or put up mylar (plastic film can cause fumes when heated) use either of your reflectors, however the cool-tube will be easier to cool obviously. If you have some "spare" cash, consider picking up a double-parabolic type reflector like the following: http://www.adjustawings.com/

With the sun reflector, don't worry about cooling the light, just worry about venting the garden.

Well after a bit of reading and research, I have decided i must get a mother/clone box :(

Personally I would like to avoid the auto flowering strains, as well as feminized seeds. I am an organic enthusiast(Growing indoors lol!), and I think if its a plant and it grows, seed is the way to go. At the same time I do feel that cloning is alright, so long as the mother came from non feminized seed. Call me nuts but I like it natural!

Although I would love to use a 1000W hps, I think the 650W will produce enough light without possibly causing heat issues, and would cost less than the 1000W per month on the electric bill. Aside the gain in producing more bud, does the 1000W produce more POTENCY?

Lastly would I notice an increase in weight with a light mover, just using 1 light?

a 1000watt will not make your bud any more potent just covers a larger area ( 4 foot by 4 foot) A light mover will increase your yield only because you can cover more area there for more plants you can flower
