God ?

People need to stop looking at god as an entity and not an overall presence.

I present this idea to you.

We are all one person, one infinite consciousness aware of itself fragmented into millions of pieces. We are part of one global mindset driven and powered only by the emotion of love. We experience this reality subjectively and enjoy ourselves. We are here to enjoy our lives, this world is here for us to enjoy the pleasures. "But why is there pain and suffering in the world"

Agent Smith from the Matrix said it best, There were precursors to the matrix that were "too perfect" and people couldn't believe it. We live in a simulation JUST like the matrix, but less knobs and switches. Our minds are caged and we must release them.

Every single religion has initially been a religion of love perverted by rules and laws by the greedy men who rule the world. Love your friends. Love your family. Enjoy the ride.

u are picking what u like and leaving out what u dont like.

if people did not think there was a god they might have found another reason to kill/war but they had god.
how many times did the pope send people to war? isnt he supposed to be gods voice on earth???

god is good if u need it. (society might have had a need for it back when there was no law enforcement and this was a way to keep people in check)
but when u have it telling people not to use birth control when there is a high % of people with aids like u do in Africa. religion and by extension GOD is setting humanity back and directly harming the world that we all live in.

science can prove that god does not exist ... (at least in the examples given christian/catholic faith is the focus)

the earth was not made in 7 days...
the earth is not 5million years old...
the earth is not the center of the universe...
science cannot prove that god doesnt exist. science has proved that many of the things in the bible are not possible. that doesnt mean that god doesnt exist. all that means is that the people who wrote the bible were wrong.

*edit to add... i have no idea if theres a god and what it could possibly be. i have had certain experiences that lead me to believe there is more to life than what we experience with our 5 physical senses. and that theres more to this world than the physical aspects of it. but i have no idea what all the details are :) i am not a religious person at all. i go to church to flirt with cute boys lol.

yeah thats exactly what I feel, the universe and beyond that, however infinite this all is... the fact that anything exists at all is "god".
not really though, I feel man is only fucking it up when they think they know what god is, or when they think of it at a person like you or me.

You can not see God if you do not want to.
I used to pretty much be an atheist until I started doing real halucigenics.

I know about you and hallucinogens from posts of yours, and while im no master of psychedelics like yourself, lol, shrooms certainly made me a more spiritual person.

K so this is my first post ever here, just like to read and browse most of the time.

So, no, science cannot disprove the existence of a "god" definitively. But lack of evidence for a "god" disproves the existence of god sufficiently, basically meaning that a god may exist but there's no evidence for one so there's no reason to think one exists (same reason not to believe in unicorns or leprechauns, you can't disprove their existence definitively, but we have no reason to believe in them). For the purpose of this post, god will be defined as a supernatural entity that created or catalyzed the creation of the universe. Anyways, the basic argument for a god is that something as complex as the universe we live in must have been created by something, therefore there is a god. However, to create something as complex as the universe, god must necessarily be more complex, and therefore must have been created as well. This creates an endless string of gods creating other godswith no solution, and is not a valid argument. Also, the idea of god is basically an arbitrarily created idea made up to explain where we and the universe around us came from. From physics (as far as I know, not huge on physics), matter and energy cannot be created or destroyed but can merely change forms, and as we can only logically base our views on what we know, the only logical thing to believe is that matter and energy and the laws that govern them are natural and have always existed.

I don't believe in god, simply because there's no evidence (I'm a very logical person). Used to be religious when younger, but grew out of it. My previous "experiences with god" I realized were simply products of indoctrination and the human imagination. I have nothing against religious people, as long as you don't try to tell people what to do or push your beliefs on them. There's simply too much we do not and will not ever know for me to base my life around a god we can't come anywhere near proving the existence of, and I know that we as humans can function and be good without religion. All morality has been created by man, not by god.

Also, karma is a load of bull. That's my rant.

Wooo, good first post!

I still think God is an alien, and that karma is also BS... but I still like to keep my positive karma higher than the negative, JUST IN CASE.
