I really thought about this - I really did! I couldn't imagine one single instance where it would make the slightest bit of difference! But then again, I'm a "Paper Towel" kinda guy!

I used soil in an egg carton to germinate my seeds. I chose to wet the soil before introducing the beans.
This made sense to me, seeing as, with the soil being in such a tiny amount, I did not want the water being added after planting to disperse the soil and/or the seed, and mess up everything.

Never thought about it really bit I would think that if you add the water first, when you make a place for the seed with say your finger you'll compact the soil since its wet but by planting then lightly watering or watering from the outside of the pot the seed would be in looser soil.

water then plant your seeds. if u can presoak your seeds in a glass of water overnight. once u have waterd your soil and planted your seed just keep it misted so u dont hurt the seed.or just wrap it in plastic wrap so it stays moist"Greenhouse effect"
