Not with out your consent to a search or reasonable cause at least that's how it's suppose to be.

Amendment 4 - Search and Seizure. Ratified 12/15/1791.
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

So.. Cops are not allowed to actually search you, if you are walking on the street?

They can only frisk you, for weapons?

Could someone clear this up for me? becuase it might someday save my life

Once an officer has probable cause (which is different than reasonable suspicion which are things like odor of marijuana, pot leaf jewelry, high times magazine, etc..), the officer can do much, much more than just pat you down. A roach in an ashtray - hell a seed on your floor is probable cause. Officer can have a hundred "reasonable suspicions" but it takes just one probable cause and the officer can search you and your car. PS - refusal to allow a search, while technically isn't a reasonable suspicion, will get the K-9 units checking you out and the officer really, really checking things out.

Cops in my area let you go if you come clean. TWICE Ive been stopped, and both times the officer asked if i had Marijuana. I had like a gram, he took it and let me go.

I never get in a car with more than half an ounce, especially if im driving long distances.
