To begin with, if you purchase genetics rather than use bagseed you will have a general idea of when harvest time is near. When it gets close you check your plant's trichomes and when they are the color that will give YOU what YOU like the best, that is the best time to harvest.

They should be able to tell you a general flowering time frame the same as you could learn from breeder information and then you just do the same as I already said, watch your plant's trichomes and when the time is ripe, harvest and you will be in like Flynn.
