First time growing ever. Well first time they are growing. MAZAR seeds and 1 unknown

Tried deleting my thread in the grow journal could'nt find out how.

Hey everyone Ive been unsuccessful for months with seeds basically from local bags in the area. I finally went marijuana-seeds.nl hoping and praying that the seeds would come. And they did Germination was quick 2 days to sprout. I wanted to at least plant them and see if they grew before i posted. Im happy i found the site and with maines how to post of where to get seeds it was a big help.

So far mostly ive had seeds die on me I believe due to over watering. i got excited what can i say. This batch im watching carefully. Hopefully Ill be building up a small grow room soon. Didn't want a lot just wanted to try to get one nice plant. And i didn't want it hitting the ceiling to so i chose mazar seeds. pic here http://www.marijuana-seeds.nl/mazar.html The plant description said short Christmas tree and i liked that answer.

Im starting my plants off in a small container then later moving them to a 3 gallon pot. Hope that its enough. Im also using miracle grow potting soil and i added about 30% personality. I wanted more drainage because of the last seedling being over watered. Im doing 24/7 light with a standard 60w light bulb and then moving to a bunch of cfl. If anyone has grown mazar before or have pics let me know. Ive only found 2 pics on the web and they were seed sights. Hopefully I will have good new and pics for the future. The 2 brown containers are mazar and the glass is a unknown local seed from a bag. One of the mazars had trouble and one of the first leaves died on me nursing it back to health.

Quick question though? Why is the fan so important in the grow room? Strength the roots? or what?

A fan is very important because when your growing in a room or indoors its going to get hott no matteer what light you use ...i have 7 CFLs going on right now and i have a fan blowing cold air in my grow box and another fan blowing the hott air out ...its helps strengthen the stems and keeps the plants cooler(heat puts more stress on your plants)when time for flowering your branches can hold more without breaking ... go to your local home depot or wal mart and get a couple of cfl equivelent to 150 watts (those give out atleast 2600 lumens each) the more lumens you have the faster and better your plant will grow ...unless you can afford a hps or mh light ...but cfls are the best for a closet operation or somthing small bc they dont get as hot and your energy bill wont be as high(dont leave your light s on for 24/ pu them on 18 on and 6 off its pretty much the same thing and they need a little dark anyways...i hope i gave you some good advice=)

definately need more light then what your rockin, definately you can take 40 bucks or so buy a buncha sockets cfls and make a decent little grow lamp



that cost me 45 bucks and most of it was the bubs just 2 aluminum disposable baking trays spray painted with flat white 4 23watt and 4 13watt cfl's 2 surge protectors 4 plug in lick sockets 4 splitters and some duct tape puttin out roughly 10k lumens and only 144 watts of power just over double the incandescent bulb your usin but your prolly puttin out like 700-900 lumens might wanna suggest a small drop of super glue to hold plugs into surge strip (i bumped my hood and lost 2 bulbs but learned a lesson)

edit: last part could be misunderstood dont put a drop of superglue in the plug put it where the plastic of the plug contacts the plastic of the surge protector strip

nice light set up im using 5 cfls on a white widow clone and a chem dog d clone they are giving off 2600 lumens each i also have a similar light set up as you scoobster

you gave me a great idea and a easy setup just by looking at your pic. easy because i dont need to cut n e a/c wires just 2 power strips. but why did you paint it white? heat reasons? i almost want to put mylar in the housing. my lights are just temp until i find a nice secretive grow room setup. I have a huge box fan growing on them now. thanks for the replies so far you guys have been a great help especially that pic.

Iguess the glass doesn´t have drainage, so moist, don´t water (as I understand from others this should be a rule for baby girl seedlings.)

but why did you paint it white? heat reasons?

I don´t know if it is the reason, but aluminium baking paper/trays creates hot spots on your plants (thats what its called isn´t it?), and reflects poorly, so I guess the idea is that white will reflect more, interesting, will have to try it out....

For the rest I see that many use the bottom of a plastic bottle to create a "greenhouse" effect keeping humidity up. Maybe an idea for you?

Good luck, and don´t overwater again, been doing that myself, hopefully learned now Strange though, wherever you read about growing them they warn about it, and still we newbies do it lol

you need to get the fuck rid of that incandecant *sigh* and use a CFL
you need to get that seedling out of the glass and into a plastic cup to put drainage holes in
you will need aroudn 100W of CFL per plant for any results, that is TRUE watts, not what its fucking equivelant to, and aim for more if you can
have you got a permanent growing space for them yet? becasue you should probly ditch the bagseed plant and keep your 2 mazars becaus ei doubht u will be getting hold of over 200W of CFL or a HID light

at first i kinda got defensive seeing what you said. But im a newbie and i like constructive criticism. Im going to menards home depot tomorrow. To grab a ph tester and other good as well as lighting to construct a grow box. Will keep everyone updated. Sill would like to get a great recomendation on lighting as well as anyone who has grown mazar. the local bag seems to be doing better than the rest and one of the mazars seems to be drooping lack of water i suspect so i gave it a little more. glass was a quick temp. im planning on 3 gallon buckets if that's enough?

well i updated my light setup and working on my grow room. Would like advice on how tall and wide it should be? anyone wanna help. Looking for something easy and cheap with the cfls i just got so far. Hope that is enough 85 watt equivalent to 200 watts couldnt get n e thing higher 1 bulb watt 35$

Cheap Grow room update. Couldnt Find mylar but got this bubble wrap insulation instead. Tried menards and lowells to find the stuff.



Any Ideas? I want to make a grow box But I have no clue how high or the dementions should be. Mazar seeds are supposed to be short christmas tree like. But how tall do these guys get?

Well no one has commented but I thought i would give an update. week 1 hoping it will grown faster. I know patience but still. Looking into Foxfarm nutrients liquid.



This little guy had a falling accident and only had one pedal during growth but i think its going well now just at a slower pace.


Would like some info on mazar seeds and what you guys use as nutrients at this stage.

UPDATE things are going good but over watered one and have root rot gonna replace it with another seed soon. One of my plants is losing color in one starter leaf.

What type of reflector? At the store all i could find was clip on desk lamps? Any pics to help me out? I have bubble wrap mylar right above the lights i think that should help for now. oo and pic update! one of my plants died due to root rot others are doing great

and the other mazar baby. so one mazar 1 bag seed and 1 random from the bank left. hope this mazar is female germinating another seed just incase

hey man ur plants are lookin healthy.. nice work so far keep it up. and if oyu have a 3 gal pot that should work fine if youre not trying to let them get huge. but you can always transplant them into a bigger pot if you see roots getting clogged in the drain holes.
Also i have a veg box with 2 plants using MG soil and i saw in a couple of ur pics some yellow balls.. i have them too and i thought they were eggs and i freaked out and transplanted them into new cups. i just wanted to ask you if you know what they are... but if you have the same soil as me, and you have them then i think it just might be some ferts added in the soil.. and dude you should really try to make a box. its so much better than just out in the open. i made mine with some small bookshelf but thats just for veg until i get my room completly ready. my size is about 2'7"tall about 1' wide and 3' long. you should get one bigger. if you are using the same box for flower and veg id say get a cabinet and grow in there. ill post a cabinet i found a while back for very cheap

IMO you only need a reflector if you either have a room or a big grow space. also open space. if you have a grow box all you need is either flat white paint or Poly plastic film. should work fine wont need any reflector. ive grown in a rubbermaid storage bin with 2 CFLs and no reflector. i had tin foil as my walls but it still worked perfectly. i have found several small reflectors for pretty cheap. i can post them if you want just give me the signal.

this would be good size for a grow cab you can use it thru flower and veg if thats how you are going to be growing.

your plants arent going to die if they get tall, and they grow tall if you keep the lights too far away because they search for more light.
