Cloning tumors... no roots...

I'm pretty new to cloning, and have been going through alot of trial and error... I feel like I'm getting close cause the cuttings are staying alive, but after waiting for roots for a while I pulled a few up and am seeing theres some serious damage/blockages. Maybe I shouldn't be making incisions in the stalk as deep although I've seen techniques using notches and cutting the outer skin to help promote root development.... any ideas? was a real shock when I saw these "tumors" where the roots should be...

Ever considered trying propagation;
forming of roots whilst branch is still attached to the plant.

It develops roots whilst still on the tree, and can be cut and planted after that.

im pretty sure thats what happens before the roots pop out, leave them alone and they will root

#1 it's a bit harder to clone a plant that is in flower, than it is a plant vegging. So try to clone off a plant still getting more than 12 hours of light a day. #2 try not putting any slit's in the stem AT ALL!.. Maybe your getting an air bubble in the stem when cutting on it?... If you just cut it off the plant right under a node at a 45 degree angle, dip in rooting hormone (I use 'rootone' it's a powder) and then put them in jiffy pelets, mist, cover with dome, mist daily and get fresh air in there daily.

Also are you just suing regualr tap water?... The water mixture I use for cloning is this: 1 gallon container, I use tap water, put 2 drops prime in there (It's a chlorine and nitrate eliminator) put 2 drops of superthrive in there, and then mix about 1/10 strength bloom nute with that water. And use that for watering and misting your clones.

This is exactly what I do and I ended up having to throw some clones in the trash cuz I had 10 of 10 root (didn't expect it at ALL) and just not enough room for them all!

And it looks like they may just be trying to pop out some roots. You should have left them longer! PATIENTS IS A VIRTUE! And an EXTREMELY important part of growing!

They are trying to root now.

I see you have flowers on your plants, realize it will probably take 2 to 3 weeks to root them. But then they will be ready to go.

I take my clones 3-4 weeks into flower, root them and then stick them under CFL's. I get very bushy plants with short inter-nodal spacing.

Damn! I should have waited to get responses before I took action on these clones... I ended up cutting the plants right above the swelling/distorting area and putting em back into cloning gel and back into the plugs. Doh!! well I guess you learn from your mistakes... although I do have a little good news, one of the NL clones I took and put in soil is starting to grow (after wayyy too long)... it had one root when I put it in soil, and its doing ok now. So I guess I'm not at a complete loss...

I thought "cloning" is the same as "propagation"... correct me if I'm wrong...
you can grow roots while its still on the mother? huh?
