i have six pure kush plants grown from seeds in ff ocean mix soil, there in my closet with is about 4x3x3 i was just wondering if a 250w hps would be good for them, how far the light should be away, should i run a cfl and how much could i yield? been in soil for two and a half weeks with 150w cfl. are all six inches tall and just got first topping today (5/8/10)

thanks for everything!

400 would have been better but the heat may have made that impractical anyway. How close to the light depends on the heat. If your plants are big enough to take HID lighting, they should be fine as close as possible. MEANING - I just put my hand under the light and wherever it feels comfortable for me, I set everything to that height. Sometimes that height is just 12 inches away. Other times it is as close as 6 inches (in winter).

Exciting grow man. Any chance for pics???

The bulb looks good, the sellers text is full of errors at best ;) UV.......????? Usable for plants?????

However, I would complement the 105w with 2-3 20-26W 6500k CFL to get full blue spectrum as well, but hey, I´m just a stupid arse that don´t know shit :D

6 plants might be too many for a single 250w, but you can grow 2-4 plants to full size under it. by full size i mean about 3-4 feet tall. I've grown 4 under my 250w twice and they stretched a little, but they produced some pretty decent buds. just remember its better to have 1 or 2 plants that get direct light, than a bunch of plants that don't get enough light

majec is right, not to mention u need to expect those plants to almost quadruple in size and im having trouble keeping 3 small plants in space half that size, i'm thinking of going down to 2 plants.from experience 6-10 inches is a good distance for a 250w HPS but the heat it kicks out is big so make sure ur ventilation is up to the challenge.UV IS usable light for plants in their later stages, it helps with resin production .lookin forward to seein some pics :bigjoint:

sounds good, 6 plants will grow fine under a 250w until they reach a certain size

I'm currently growing only 1 plant under my 250w and she's doing awesome. Check out the journal in my sig for pics :D

thanks! im hoping for around 3 oz. dry but I dont want to be dissapointed so I'll say 2 lol. pure kush stays very short and bushy and grows dense indica buds that have a very sweet, sometimes musty smell. the burmese i'm growing is a hybrid, it has some sativa traits but the classic og kush taste/smell :D

nice :D foxfarm makes great soil, it has everything you need to veg plants but I like to start feeding them when they are about 2 weeks old. I don't use foxfarm nutes though just their soil
