Curiously short and bushy

I tossed a bag seed (second pic) in soil and threw it in a pc grow case 30 days ago. It sprouted and took off like crazy...staying low and compact but getting bushy. I had to change out pots 3 times to keep up with its growth. I'm in the midst of converting a dresser into a grow box, so for now the bag seed is in a small closet area with two low ryders (first pic). The LR are only 7 days old.

Question...does the bag seed plant look to be an AF strain? I've had it under 20/4 the entire time. My current setup is 10x 6500k daylight spectrum cfls w/ 5x 2700k being added in 4 days ago. Temp runs between 75-80 degrees with 45% humidity. Any clues? I'm just wondering if it looks like an AF or should I move it out from the LRs and throw it into 12/12.

Thanks for any help, tips, comments, constructive criticisms.

Got a message that it's from over watering. I only water every 3-4 days depending if the top 1" feels dry to the finger dip method. Should I be letting the top 2" dry out?

Agreed.

That plant indeed looks overwatered, I see some deficiency going on too. Let the soil dry out between waterings, the roots will expand in their search for water.

edit: also, whats the actual TOTAL wattage of your setup (not equivalent)

The daylight cfls are 26w (100w equiv) 1600 lumens. I have 10 of those in there. The others (2700k spec) are 23w (100 equiv) 1600 lumens and there are 5 of those.

I'm letting it dry out as I feel I definitely over watered. And I'm going to isolate the problem (thanks for the link). My two low ryders aren't showing the same problems. I do have a pH meter and I've been checking and maintaining between 5.2 - 5.8. Is this bad for a soil grow? The runoff that I've tested is coming out between those numbers to .2 higher at times. It's a month old and starting to get trichs and appears to be starting to flower. It has been on a 20/4 cycle since germination....so this is pointing to it being an auto, right?

Your ph should be between 6 and 7 for a soil grow. I find 6.3-6.5 does the job for me when feeding

I appreciate the feedback. From what I've read and y'all have told me...I've over watered and it looks like I got nut lock. Going to try some remedies to fix that and just keep her in the 20/4 cycle since she appears to be auto flowering. I originally asked if I should move her to 12/12 but it appears she is going into flowering on her own. Guess the bag seed was an af strain. Thanks again for the suggestions/links and help.

i think it might be overwatering as well. Did you top? If not then you're lucky. The tips of the leaves curling here^ could be heats stress

From what ive gathered over the past few months of researching auto flower strains they all show sex and start flowering well within 30 days, so id say that no, it isnt an auto flower strain. *edit - just noticed your post saying it had gone into flower, how long did it take as a matter of interest?

With regard to the ph question in the post above - I was under the impression that you wanted your soil ph to be about 6.5 and water should be 6.5 - 7ph. This is what ive been doing with my auto ak-47's and they seem to be doing ok.

The pics of your mystery plant look not that dissimilar to my ak-47's in fact when they were about 20 days old, the bushiness and large leaves in particular. For what its worth, my suggestion would be stick it on 12-12 if you can and see what happens. :peace:

It looked like it was starting to flower around day 32-33. But I did exactly what you said (and someone else suggested) and put it into 12/12. Two weeks later and the flowering area appears to have pods and bananas so I think I either stressed it to hermie or it already had the hermie genetics. I'll never know which way since it was unknown bagseed.

I had topped it twice and it responded really well. Unfortunately, after taking pictures today and noticing the ball sacks in the flowering areas, I've got s/him set to the side to dispose of since I have 4 LRs I don't want pollinated. Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions.

Might be worth pollinating one of your girls, just so you don't need to buy more seeds.
You could get loads, and start a nice SOG autoflower grow.
