Hello everyone, first time poster, second time grower here. Great site! Everyone seems so helpful and informative. It is because of this that I am seeking the guidance of some of the vets around here. I am basically a complete newbie other than growing 6 small(1') Raspberry and Banana Kush plants last year which yielded about an ounce because I started them completely late.
Current set-up: on 6/8/2010 I potted 5 baby(about 4") Sour Diesel clones in an outdoor plastic greenhouse which measures 15'L X 7'W by 7'H. Two of them are in 15 gallon pots and the other three are in 7 gallon pots. I used Happy Frog organic soil for this project. I plan on getting 5 more clones, hopefully White Widow, to make it a total of ten in the hot house. I will use the same pot configurations for these five as well. I live in Southern Cali and the plants recieve direct light the entire day.
Goal: My main goal is to get these plants the biggest yield possible. Idid some research and found that these strains typically give high yields and grow tall so I am wishing for the best. I would really like to get 3-5 lbs per plant if achievable.
Questions: I do plan on adding nutrients in 2 weeks to the babies after they grow a little bit, as this is what the employee at the Hydro store told me to do. However, my main concern right now is watering. I haven't given the babies a deep watering yet in their big new homes. I've read that this is necessary to settle the soil. I've had them for 1 full day now, and have basically only poured a little on the side, and used a spray bottle to water the area around the tiny plant.
1. Should I give the pots a deep watering and then let the babies soak for a couple days in the watered soil?
2. Can I reach my potential goal for these plants in this space?
3. Any other helpful advice for my grow?
I thank all of you in advance for any help and wisdom you share with me, I am mainly just concerned with getting these babies up and running. Thanks again, and I will post pictures soon!
