Hello everyone, first time poster, second time grower here. Great site! Everyone seems so helpful and informative. It is because of this that I am seeking the guidance of some of the vets around here. I am basically a complete newbie other than growing 6 small(1') Raspberry and Banana Kush plants last year which yielded about an ounce because I started them completely late.

Current set-up: on 6/8/2010 I potted 5 baby(about 4") Sour Diesel clones in an outdoor plastic greenhouse which measures 15'L X 7'W by 7'H. Two of them are in 15 gallon pots and the other three are in 7 gallon pots. I used Happy Frog organic soil for this project. I plan on getting 5 more clones, hopefully White Widow, to make it a total of ten in the hot house. I will use the same pot configurations for these five as well. I live in Southern Cali and the plants recieve direct light the entire day.

Goal: My main goal is to get these plants the biggest yield possible. Idid some research and found that these strains typically give high yields and grow tall so I am wishing for the best. I would really like to get 3-5 lbs per plant if achievable.

Questions: I do plan on adding nutrients in 2 weeks to the babies after they grow a little bit, as this is what the employee at the Hydro store told me to do. However, my main concern right now is watering. I haven't given the babies a deep watering yet in their big new homes. I've read that this is necessary to settle the soil. I've had them for 1 full day now, and have basically only poured a little on the side, and used a spray bottle to water the area around the tiny plant.

1. Should I give the pots a deep watering and then let the babies soak for a couple days in the watered soil?

2. Can I reach my potential goal for these plants in this space?

3. Any other helpful advice for my grow?

I thank all of you in advance for any help and wisdom you share with me, I am mainly just concerned with getting these babies up and running. Thanks again, and I will post pictures soon!

A1. not quite sure what u mean about depe watering, but you should water them thouroghly to get all the dirt wet, wet dirt encourages the roots to grow there
2. nope, simple as that, a veteren could maybe yeild 1lb a plant, if sumhow u are vegging them for a fucking good portion of the year or sumtin, but no, aim for 5oz a plant if u no ur shit etc
3. do a fucklaod of reaserch :) just browse through rollitup and the net as much as u can

You really dont think I could get lbs per plant? I know people who have gotten plants about 5 ft tall and they yielded 5 lbs each, with barely any watering or anything. I hope 5 oz isnt the max for a 5 ft plant

No offense but I highly doubt that they 'barely watered or anything' and got 5ft tall plants that yielded 5lbs dry.

Fair enough, I could have been talking out of my ass on that one. However, I know a guy who had two Sour Diesel plants that he started inside for a month then threw outside and got 5lbs total. Thats with only 2 plants. Im just wondering, as a lot of people have told me is possible, can plants yield pounds per plant outside?

Got legalized today! Pretty stoked about that. Anyway, went down to a club and picked up 5 more babies.

I now have: Sour Diesel(6), Pre-98 bubba(1), Trainwreck(1), Mazar(1), and Headband(1). Currently watering every 2-3 days when soil is dry 2-3 inches deep.

Does anyone have any experience with these strains? I've read that some strains should be topped and others shouldn't in order to maximize yield. I'm going for size, I would like these babies to reach 5-6 ft so I don't know whether or not to top. Any advice?

Also, is watering once every 2-3 days ok for clone size plants or shouldit be more frequently since they are so small?

Ok so today I added Fox Farm nutrients to the plants. I added fox farm grow big andbig bloom at 1/2 the recommended dosage. Hopefully this will help because the trainwreck, mazar and headband really aren't growing much and have yellowing leaves.

Plants are doing great so far! One SD is up to about 3.5 feet tall already. The headband, mazar, and trainwreck are sort of sluggish and the trainwrecks stems have turned purple for some reason... Things should be alright though, I hope to have pics up soon!
