How many plants would you need

So that you don't have to buy any and always have constant supply for your own use without runnings out?

What kinda question is that? It all depends on how much you can yield out of the plants. Which strain? What method? etc.

and of course, it also depends on how much you smoke.

Auto flower plants yield between 15 - 30 grams per plant and take on average 60 - 70 days from seed to harvest.

Regular plants can yield anything really from 15 - 500 grams depending on method of grow, lighting, length of time in veg etc etc and take a little bit longer generally as you have to veg them for about a month before putting them in to flower.

Agree with Bigby, how much you smoke is the main question. And then you should also take in consideration that yield will increase when you get more experienced growing (look forward to that myself).

By LST/Topping you will increase yield, but to do this you should fully understand the concept since there is a chance of killing/ruin them. If you buy normal seeds (not fem) you should calculate at least 50% males to be on the safe side. Out of the rest 50% you should calculate that you could end up killing half of them the first grow, then you should calculate that you probably don´t have good enough lights (as most of us starters struggle with) so yield would be very low.....

First time you do it for the learning and trying, second you could maybe calculate 50% of the yield given in the seed info where you buy. 3rd should increase since you´ve learned many lessons and tricks!

I plant 6 at a time, if all grow with a minimum yield (total 100gr), I would have to plant 3 times a year, but then again, when I taste my own (which is hopefully better than streetshite) I will double consumption....

I calculate at least 12-14 weeks pr grow from seedling to harvest (I think that´s a safe middleway?).

In the future I would be happy with 50gr+ pr plant, I just upgraded light system so that should be within reach, and I will also experiment (and have success!!) on various types of LST (low stress training).

Sry if I babbled too much, into a very good one :D
