Mold during curing

i just examined a recent harvest thats been jarred for about 6 or 7 days and some of the buds have developed what appears to be a mold. it looks like its a very thick keef or highly crystallized parts of the nug but im pretty sure that its a mold ill work on getting some pictures, but i wanted to know how harmful this is and if i can just trim those areas off, any information is helpful thank you

definately trim off the mold before it affects the rest of your product and mold on bud is usually formed when not enough fresh air can get inside the jar at least two to three times each day every day til completely dry. All you got to do in the future is open up your jar like stated in the last sentance. Good luck and hopefully you can come out of this with bare mininum losses.

Make sure you open your jars to breath about an hour or so each day for the first week to get fresh air. After the first week I do it every other day until I reach perfection which is usually about another week or so. After that I check every now and then to make sure there is no mold or too dry. Everyone has their own method of curing but this seems to work for me.

As for dealing with mold.. it depends on how moldy we're talkin here. If it is just surface mold maybe you can just trim off the bad parts, depends how bad. If you crack a nug and find mold deep inside your harvest is toast IMO. Smoking moldy bud gets you toned but it's disgusting and very unhealthy. And forget about any nice flavours, just ammonia.

Trim it off, smoking it is hazardous. Buds can come off the plants moldy so you need to make sure their is adequate ventilation, put fans directly blowing on the plants. You can also make sure your getting a good initial drying before putting them in jars. 10 days is usually a good enough dry, cure for at least 2 weeks.

mold sucks... when you are usually smelling your weed and have that hay smell.. i say it is close to mold

Yeah, what you want to do with jars is to know that they will suck out moisture from your nugs, if it's enough you'll see it start to build up on the sides of the jar. You 'burp' jars by opening them and letting expel the air and moisture.
All I know is when I spend 100 days or more tending to a plant, to let the finished nugs go unseen for more than a day would be a crime :(
