Simple question please help

First-timer here.
Just wondering how far into veg my plants are. Are seedlings considered to be in vegetative stage. I started from seed. Beans sprouted on May 9th. Does that mean i am in week 5 of veg or does it mean week 3-4 since it was a seedling for a few weeks.

Basically. is it in Vegetative as soon as it breaks ground, or is it in vegetative a week or so after it starts developing leaf sets.

Im trying to determine if i have any male preflowers yet since im in week 5 but im not sure if i may be in week 3. any help would be great. thanks

There is really no way to tell until it shows preflowers. There are a couple indicators such as taller growth, thinner leaves, etc that tend to indicate a male, but they can be false positives as well.

Thanks for the answers guys. i am still a little confused as to my question.
Most of what i read says that males will start showing between week 4-6 of vegetative growth. i dont know if im the fifth week or the fourth week.
My question is simply a "lingo technicality" i guess.
Is week four of veg actually 4 weeks after the beans sprouted and were visible above the dirt, or does week one of veg start when you get your first set of 3-pointed leaves.
In other words. Is it considered the start of vegetative growth once they were germinated and sprouted
