thanks. He's an asshole as far as behavior goes (he always gets on the counter and into the trash) but he is the nicest damn dog. He wouldn't hurt a fly (actually he chases the occasional fly that makes its way into our house)

`SoA || Asi, you should find a "off leash dog park" in your area and visit it. You will learn a lot about all breeds, and this will give you the opportunity to learn for yourself about this breed and many more. You can even see where they get their behavior from (their owners of course, but its obvious at a place like this). Give it a try, they are fun places to go. Me and my koda just socialize wit the other animals normally, but sometimes the people are good and nice.

Hey all. Ok so my dog isn't a pit bull exactly but pit lovers should definitely ba able to appreciate him. He's 100% purebred champion bloodlines Bull Terrier. He's the most stubborn animal I've ever seen in my entire life. He doesn't do ANYTHING unless he's ready. Before I bought him I researched a lot about the breed and everywhere I read said that Bull terriers have a jokester personality and will definitely make you laugh. I didn't get it. How could a dog be funny? Pretty much as soon as I got him I understood. I guess you just gotta be a bully breed owner to know just how goofy they truly can be. He can be an asshole sometimes but I wouldn't trade him in for any other dog in the world.

Nice dog! my neighbor has 2 mini bull terriers. i thought bull terriers were memebers of the terrier breed. Are they members of both?Hey all. Definitely not a pit... but she's my pup nonetheless. She's such a sweetheart. Loves to jump on the couch and cuddle next to me as I play Xbox...
But her son, now there's a pothead. I had nearly a full bowl sitting on the coffee table one day and he came up and ate the whole thing (not including the pipe) while I went to the bathroom. What a pothead

Thanks man. Bull Terriers, or english bull terriers as they're also known, were one of the original breeds used for pit fighting. First they were used for Bull Baiting, then for dog fighting, but their lack of size made them pretty poor fighters so they ended up being ratters. They, like all the bully breeds today, were bred from crossing Bulldogs with Terriers to get the gameness of the terrier and the strength of the bulldog. Obviously there were some different breeds introduced into the bull terriers blood line to create that egg shaped head, triangle eyes, and pointed ears but on the inside they're pretty similar. Shit if you just wiki pitbull it even says in there that bull terriers are often (incorrectly) labeled as pitbulls and are sometimes subject to the same bullshit breed specific legislations that pits are. Which in my opinion and anyone with a brains opinion is bullshit. They should not be able to ban all dogs of a breed based on a few shitty owners. That's like saying no German people should be allowed in america because of what Hitler and the Nazis did. Bullshit if u ask me.

yeah, killed some cocker spaniels. they always barked cause the lady never walked them. i think he knew that i secretly hated them, and wished them to go away.

They say most Pit Bulls need a lot of exercise and playtime each day and I agree, it just makes for a calmer dog. However, the white pit we have (and I don't know if there are many more like him, I have 11 right now and he is the only one) will sleep all day.. He does not want to go outside, unless you go with him, he does not get out of the couch for anything really unless the door knocks or there is some steak cooking. Laziest dog I have ever in my life seen, now he does smoke... But only at night time usually, we never make him but only if he will come sit in front of the joint begging (holding up a hand to shake) do we give him a hit. Very smart dog, but like I said, lazy as can be... Anyone else got a super lazy Pit?

mines a boxer, but I have seen some lazy pits!! i visit the dog parks frequently, and i see all shapes, they are great!! but only the young ones are frisky!! after 3-4, they act lazy after a short time. My sister has a American bulldog, so bully breed, and she was a active dog until about 18 months, then she went lazy. she will bite my dogs legs after a few hours of play to tell her to stop, literally taking my dog to the ground! She is so stable I cannot take her down unless I somewhat tackle her, but I have never had to. she goes down with gentle coaxing. enough high ranting, peace

after they hit 2 or 3 years old they calm down but i never seen a lazy pit my old pit and all boys pits still have alot of engery no matter what age they are but my moms lab is they laziest dog you will ever see all she does is sleep but when shes out side on her chain all she does is jump around and bark mean lil bitch

This is a bit late in the thread, but has anyone here who has a pit gotten that txt w/ the guy who was pumping his pit w/ steroids and it went ballistic a bit him from between the eyes to his chin and ripped his face off? I mean God Damn! This guy is missing like 1/3 of his face (bone and all)
